I've been asked a lot lately about kitchen manners or boundaries and what command I use or do I just kennel.

Here's the secret: You give them ✨️CONSISTENT✨️ guidance and a command. When youre in the kitchen, put them in a down at the threshold and you become Gandolf. "Thou shall not pass!" 😆. They don't get to get up and walk away, they dont get to get up and come into the kitchen, etc. You put them in a down and keep them in a down EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Not just occasionally. EVERY. TIME. Use a leash in the beginning if its needed. Again, no magic cure. Just consistency, time, and also reward. Once you're done cooking and cleaning and whatever in the kitchen, if the dog has remained, give them a little treat and then release from their position.

Whatever standard YOU set, is going to be the standard your dog follows. For better or worse.

NEIL NEEDS A HOME ASAP!
Neil was picked up as a stray, with no room at the rescue or shelter, so he was welcomed to board until a home is found, but that time is running out FAST. Not due to the facility owner, but due to fear of deterioration. He cannot stay in a kennel facility his whole life. He needs a home so READ THE DESCRUPTION BELOW, talk to your SO or Spouse before you message, and please only ask if you are seriously interested! LOCATED IN STATESBORO, GA.

🚫 Kids: Only older kids such as teenagers who know how to respect boundaries.
🚫 Other animals: Neil is very prey driven so no rabbits, chicken, cats, etc. Other larger dogs we are unsure of. He used to be ok, but we believe being in a kennel environment has created some issues there.
✅️ Potty training: During times ive had him in the office, he will go to the door when he needs to go potty. He's never gone potty in the office. Unsure of his kennel (crate) training.
✅️ Leash manners: he does have some training and some leash manners but I would be willing to provide FREE training sessions!
✅️ Sweet and loving. Very happy dog. Loves attention and affection.
✅️ He will be updated on all shots! He is neutered! I will also complete a fresh grooming prior to pick up!

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, please feel free to ask. This little loveable tank truly deserves a home to call his own. Please help me find his family/person 🫶🏻.

I finally got to give most of the clients their leashes from American Leash Co. tonight at group training! I was so excited! They loved them 😍! They're so vibrant and beautiful! And, of course, everyone did a great job!

So, when people say "No matter how much I train my dog....", it really means "when MY patience runs out", "when I have something else I want to do", "when I don't make the time" OR it can also mean "I dont even know where to start", "im overwhelmed and need guidance".

But buying some product or piece of equipment doesn't solve the problem. I hate seeing people buy things that claim to solve your dogs "problem" only to find out it only works with training, environmental changes/exposure, consistency, clarity. All of the things you would have to do anyway.

I hate seeing that as much as I hate seeing people receive bad services from a trainer because they were "cheaper" or had flashy videos.

Invest in your dog with more than money and the results will last the lifetime of your dog. ❤️

Watch 👁 and listen👂!
Pay attention to what your dog is ACTUALLY doing, versus what you think you're rewarding them for. It can make a world of difference in understanding why your dog may not be as proficient as you'd like.
