This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

We were excited to have a visit from a real life House Hippo!
Dr. Mower, Katie and Ruby had a great time visiting with this little man. He is the sweetest thing, and so full of kisses that he was happy to share.

Exciting news! This Saturday, VCA will be at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter to celebrate Clear the Shelters! Stop by our table to say hello and learn more about how we’re supporting this amazing event. Clear the Shelters runs August 17th and 18th, with all adoption fees generously sponsored by Silvercrest. Don’t miss this chance to find your new best friend! Doors open at 10am on Saturday, see you there!

Mark your calendars for the "Clear the Shelters" Event on August 17th and 18th at Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

During these two special days, Palm Springs Animal Shelter with the support of Silvercrest will be covering all adoption fees. Yes, you read that right—your new pet will come home with you completely free of charge. This generous gesture ensures that cost is not a barrier for families looking to welcome a new member into their homes. When you adopt from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, you can rest easy knowing that every pet receives comprehensive care before joining your family. Each animal is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Additionally, any newly adopted pets will come with a "Healthy Start Certificate" that includes a complimentary health exam and a complimentary follow-up care for other medical conditions up to $250 from VCA. You can use your healthy start certificate at any of our VCA General Practice. Please head over to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter this weekend to find your perfect pet(s) and we hope you will stop by the VCA booth to say hello to our team at the booth. We can share more about our incredible partnership with Palm Springs Animal Shelter, the healthy start certificate, answer any questions you have about VCA or what we do in our communities. We can even schedule your first complimentary exam before you leave the shelter, so you do not need to call a hospital and can book it before you leave. Not only for our VCA Desert location, but other VCA hospitals in the area.

Your new best friend is waiting for you!
