Welcome to Cascade OHSET! 🖤💛

This season (so far), we’re welcoming 17 competing athletes, 2 amazing grooms, and the families supporting them. To our new athletes and families—we’re glad you’re here!

There is a lot to learn when you join OHSET. Ask questions, try something new, and give yourself room to improve. You don’t have to have everything figured out to be part of this team.

We want our athletes to feel supported in the arena and outside of it. We’ll celebrate the strong rides, work through the tough ones, and recognize the progress that comes from practice. Sometimes a win is a placing. Sometimes it’s finishing a pattern, trying an unfamiliar event, or doing something you couldn’t do last week.

To our returning athletes, thank you for helping our newest teammates feel included. Learn their names. Offer a hand. Cheer for their progress. Those everyday choices help build our team.

And to our families and friends, thank you for the time, hauling, early mornings, and encouragement you give. You are part of this program, too.

Here’s to a season of learning, good horsemanship, hard work, and showing up for each other.

Happy Birthday to our Cascade OHSET Head Coach, Hailey! 🎉💖🐴

Hailey, you give our athletes so much more than instruction with their horses. You build them up, speak life into them, you push and encourage them to not only see their potential but you help them succeed in it and challenge them to reach all their goals.

You love the Lord, have a heart of gold, and show kindness and respect to those around you. Your love for your animals and your dedication to Cascade OHSET athletes, but your outreach to other youth in our community and their parents, show in everything you do. Even when the days are hard, your perseverance and drive keep you moving forward.

You are a wife, a daughter, and a step-in mom and auntie to so many but us lucky ones call you Coach! We are thankful for the time, love, and heart you pour into our team.

We hope today you hear just how loved and appreciated you are. Happy Birthday, Coach Hailey! 💖

OHSET offers so many different events for athletes to compete in, and for some families, figuring out which events are the right fit is still part of the process.

This informational video is a great way to see a sampling of the events available, watch elements of each event in action, and get a better idea of what each one involves.

Whether you’re brand new to OHSET or still deciding what you want to compete in this season, we hope this gives you a helpful look at all the opportunities available.

This meeting is for athletes and families who are interested in moving forward with the team. We will answer questions, review important season details, discuss registration and next steps, and begin confirming our team.

These meetings are important for both parents and athletes to attend and participate in. We have made changes from last year, and there is a lot of information everyone needs to hear. OHSET involves the entire family, so having both athletes and parents informed from the beginning will help the season run smoothly.

It’s almost OHSET season again! 🐴

If you’re a student who loves horses, wants to try new events, compete, grow as a rider, and be part of a team, come see what Cascade OHSET is all about!

OHSET athletes are eligible if they are students in grades 9–12, and 8th graders can join the team as grooms — a great way to get involved, learn how OHSET works, and be part of the team before becoming an athlete.

OHSET gives athletes the opportunity to compete in a huge variety of events — from performance and ranch work to gaming and team events. You do not have to specialize in just one discipline, and you definitely don’t have to know it all before you join.

Whether you’re brand new to OHSET, considering coming back, or just want to learn more, we’d love to have you join us.

So excited for our former OHSET athlete Shayli Bruce for being crowned the Queen for the Clackamas County Fair & Canby Rodeo Court. We are so proud of her! She was made for this!

As the dust settles on a successful week at the Canby Rodeo we are so excited to announce that at the completion of tryouts, yesterday we crowned our 2027 Queen, Shayli Bruce! In addition to the crown, Shayli won the knowledge written test and interviews! Throughout the day she showed a willingness to learn and grow, integrity, and kindness. We are so excited to start this journey with her and cannot wait for you to get to know her better!

We would also like to give a HUGE thank you to all of the special people who made the day happen! Especially Queen Jordyn Quinn for stepping up throughout the day to do whatever was needed to keep the day rolling- we are so proud of you and so grateful for all you have done this past year, and of course excited see what the rest of your reign has in store.

Please join us in congratulating Shayli and welcoming her to the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo Court Family!!
