Meet Bucky! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฉต

This handsome 4-year-old Doberman recently came to us for an abdominal exploratory surgery, after developing a problem that required a closer look. ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ˜ท

During surgery, we discovered that Bucky had cloth and tape material inside his intestine extending the length of a large portion, as what we call a โ€˜linear foreign bodyโ€™. This was a great reminder that our curious pups can get themselves into some pretty unusual things! ๐Ÿซฃ

To safely remove the foreign material, Bucky needed an enterotomy (an incision into the intestine) as well as a resection and anastomosis, where the affected portion of intestine is removed and the healthy ends are carefully reconnected.

Thankfully, Bucky recovered in no time! ๐Ÿ’™

His case is an important reminder that intestinal foreign bodies can become life-threatening emergencies, and prompt veterinary attention can make all the difference.๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’™
