It’s a wrap! A rainy opening weekend for berry season. But we’re so glad we went. Worth the drive to today to pick in the rain. Made it by 7am opening. My sister and I picked until our boots were full of rain water. We highly recommend thunderbird, so many yummy berries!! As I’m working I hear Candi Filios’ voice in my head: “pick on an empty stomach that way you get your money’s worth”. 🥰🥰🥰Gotta try a few as I go to hone my picker skills. I’m getting better at knowing the perfect color for max sweetness 🫐🫐🫐

Side note -I have picked at a farm out at Lake Hudson (made Rachael pull over after a landscaping job years ago) and I know there is one on the other side of Claremore lake. So go find the one closest to you! You’ve got until July 4th to go get those all-American berries!!! 🫐

Big news!!!! Park and ride for free at Spring fest this year!!! Park at All Souls Unitarian Church near 31st and Peoria in Tulsa, OK. Shuttle will drop you off in the Arboretum!

Milkjug germination experiment update! I saw about 1,000 recommended posts this winter about the milk jug/ziploc bag winter sowing strategy. Figured I should at least try it. They can be tricky for a low input gardener like me… they dried out many times this winter! (Which delays germination 🤷‍♀️) but despite the neglect there are seeds sprouting!

I think next year I need to plant my winter sown seeds in about November/December to catch enough cold weather to get the stubborn ones to sprout. Did you try any seed starting this winter??

First Peony of 2026!!

This is one of our no ID imposters. Purchased as an etched salmon-but this one is instead very early, very short, and has a single row of petals. If we ever get an ID we’ll update everyone. 😂💐 we do enjoy its blooms and will keep it even tho it is a mystery plant.

Amazingly-we’re in peak tulip bloom in midtown Tulsa! Make sure to get outside this week and soak up the scenes of spring. Spring blooms are running about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Make sure to see it before it’s gone! 💐💐💐

First signs of Spring! Tiny yellow crocus and dainty white snowbells are blooming now, Feb. 17th, 2026. Look close to the ground when you are out and about. Lots of these peeking out with warm temps.

Have lots of spring beauty lilies blooming as well 🩷 spring is near!
