This week we decided to go BIG on one of the fish everyone keeps asking for.

PEA PUFFERS. PEA PUFFERS. AND MORE PEA PUFFERS.

Certain rocks release minerals that can raise hardness and pH. That may benefit some fish but create problems for others, so research every material before adding it.

🌿🐟 ODDBALL MONDAY: FARLOWELLA CATFISH! 🐟🌿

Is that a fish… or a stick? 👀

The Farlowella Catfish, often called a Twig Catfish, has one of the strangest body shapes in the freshwater hobby. Its long, skinny body and brown coloration help it blend right into driftwood and plants.

🌿 Incredible natural camouflage
🪵 Loves driftwood and planted aquariums
🥬 Spends lots of time grazing surfaces
🐟 Generally peaceful with suitable tankmates
💧 Does best in a mature, stable aquarium with good water quality

One important thing to remember: Farlowellas shouldn't be expected to survive on leftover food or algae alone. Make sure they're getting an appropriate diet and plenty of grazing opportunities.

Sometimes the coolest fish in the aquarium is the one hiding in plain sight!
