It is with profound sadness that we share with you the sudden and unexpected passing of Dr. Brad Howard on August 8th.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Howard was an integral part of the Edgewood family. He dedicated his life to providing compassionate care to pets and their families, and his commitment to the well-being of his patients touched countless lives throughout our community.
Not only was he a kind, compassionate, and skilled veterinarian, but he was also a friend, mentor, and huge part of our Edgewood family. His kindness, humor, dedication, and presence will be deeply missed by our team, our clients, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His claim to fame was that he kissed every patient right on the head whenever he entered an exam room. We all watched, assuming that someday we would be suturing his lip back on. Now, we hope there was a long line of pets waiting for him to be kissed on the head.
His passing has left a huge void in our hearts, but also within the clinic as a whole, and we are taking things one day at a time. We kindly ask for your patience, understanding, and grace as we navigate this difficult time together.
As families do, we all gathered together when we got the news. There were lots of hugs, tears, stories, and laughs. Even little Nolan was there for his “Unkie Brad.” On Saturday, we did not lose a coworker; we lost a family member.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Howard’s family and loved ones. Please keep them, as well as our Edgewood team, in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
Dr. Howard will be deeply missed, and his legacy of compassionate care will remain a lasting part of the Edgewood family.
Rest in peace, BH. We love you.
