15th Street Veterinary Group We are a veterinary clinic in Tulsa OK and we are accepting new clients. Give us a call or come on by to meet the team! 🩺✨

Our doors first opened in 1965 as Hohmann Veterinary Hospital, under the ownership of Dr. Donald Hohmann. In 1980, Dr. Ed Wagner joined the practice as an associate but later became a co-owner. A third veterinarian was added to the group in 1987 when Dr. Mark Shackelford joined the practice. We officially became 15th Street Veterinary Group in 1990 when Dr. Wagner and Dr. Shackelford became co-owners of the clinic. Dr. Hohmann remained on and continued to practice until his death in 1995. Dr. Erin Green joined us in 1999 and became a co-owner in 2015 when Dr. Wagner sold his half of the partnership to her and retired. Dr. Kara Herrington joined us in 2014 and Dr. Kris Haak in 2021.

Today we’re introducing Olivia Hilburn!

Olivia joined our team about a year ago while she was still in veterinary technician school. She officially graduated this past spring and we decided to keep her 😉. She’s a hard worker, a true team player, and someone who shows up ready to get things done every single day. Even when the clinic is running at full speed, Olivia manages to stay calm, keep a good attitude, and find something to be amused by. We also love her dry sense of humor, which keeps us smiling and reminds us not to stress too much.

Olivia is one of Dr. Haak’s technicians, and her experience doing emergency work on the side has made her a great resource when something unexpected comes up. She’s quick, knowledgeable, reliable, and always ready to help whoever needs assistance.

Now, if there’s one thing you should know about Olivia, it’s that she has a huge soft spot for little dogs. The little small and fluffy types. Shih Tzus are a particular favorite, and if a tiny white dog comes through our doors, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find Olivia sneaking in some snuggles.

We’re glad Olivia is part of our team, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow in her career.

Meet Brittany Holcomb!

Brittany has been with us for 9 years and is one of Dr. Green’s technicians. If you want to see her eyes light up, just let a pit bull walk through the door. Brittany LOVES her “pibbles,” they definitely have a special place in her heart.

She also has a real knack for working with dogs in general. Brittany is great at reading their body language, understanding their limits, and figuring out how to help them feel more comfortable. That ability to recognize what a patient needs makes a big difference in their care. She oversees our kennel facility and has a talent for spotting potential problems before they turn into bigger ones. We appreciate her so much for that.

Brittany is a phenomenal technician but she is also one of the people who helps keep our clinic running smoothly when the day gets hectic. She is good at taking a step back, figuring out what needs to happen next, and helping everyone get there. She’s a natural at prioritizing tasks, managing her time, and jumping in wherever she’s needed.

We appreciate her steady presence, her problem-solving skills, and, of course, her love for all those pibbles!

Next up is Katie Farmer!

Katie has been with us for 13 years, and she’s one of those people who makes everything better just by being there. She’s incredibly kind, compassionate, and tender-hearted - but don’t let that sweet personality fool you. Katie is sharp, knowledgeable, efficient, and really good at what she does.

For the last 12 years, Katie has been Dr. Herrington’s technician and they make a wonderful team together. She goes above and beyond to take excellent care of her patients, always looking for ways to make them more comfortable. Katie is one of our go-to people for training new technicians. On top of all that, she keeps track of many of the administrative details that help our clinic run smoothly. We may not have an official office manager, but Katie comes pretty close!

She’s organized, observant, trustworthy, and somehow seems to know the answer to just about every question that comes up around here.

Outside of work, Katie is a proud mom of two, including her newest addition, Ellie, who arrived last month. She also has a serious love for sushi and a passion for keeping things organized (which we definitely appreciate!)

Katie is the kind of teammate everyone wants to work with, and we’re so glad she’s ours! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating Amy Harris! 💙

Amy has been part of our clinic for 17 years, and if you’ve been coming to see us for a while, there’s a good chance she knows you, your pets, and probably a few details about your life, too. Amy has a way of making people feel remembered and cared for, and that’s a big part of what makes her so special to our clinic.

Amy is one of Dr. Green’s technicians, but her talents definitely don’t stop there. She’s great with computers, incredibly resourceful, and the person you want around when something needs fixing.

Outside the clinic, Amy loves the outdoors, camping, and being involved in her kids’ Boy Scout troops. She also enjoys teaching kids about veterinary medicine and inspiring the next generation of animal lovers.

Amy also has a soft spot for wildlife. She has been known to rescue all sorts of creatures, including once keeping a baby turtle tucked against her skin at work to help keep it warm.

Amy is a huge part of the heart of our clinic, and we’re lucky to have her. 🐢

Meet Kimberly Siegrist! 🐾

Kimberly has been with us for 24 years. Twenty-four! She’s about as loyal and hardworking as they come, and her attention to detail is hard to beat. She spent many years as Dr. Shackelford’s technician and now works alongside Dr. Hardy. She’s also earned herself the nickname “the Growth Finder” because somehow, Kimberly always seems to find that extra lump or bump nobody else noticed. 😂

Kimberly is thorough, honest, and someone you can always count on. She’s well loved by our staff, clients, and patients alike, even if her sarcasm and questionable puns keep us on our toes.

When she’s not at work, you might find her cross-stitching or preparing her famous Halloween yard display. Her front yard is basically home to an entire community of animal skeletons, and honestly, it’s pretty impressive.

She loves beagles, and she’s currently helping plan her son’s wedding for next summer!

We are so thankful to have Kimberly on our team. After 24 years, she’s earned her place as one of the very best. 💙

It’s National Veterinary Technician Week!

If you’ve ever wondered what our veterinary technicians actually do, the short answer is… a little bit of everything.

They draw blood, take X-rays, run lab work, perform dentistry, assist in surgery, monitor anesthesia, refill prescriptions, administer treatments, and somehow manage to handle difficult patients, keep things moving when we’re busy, and help clients navigate some pretty stressful situations. They wear a lot of hats, and they wear them well.

Veterinary technicians are often called the nurses of the veterinary world, but their jobs go far beyond that. They are an essential part of patient care and a huge part of what keeps a veterinary clinic running.

We also want to give a special shout-out to David White! While David is a veterinary technician, he’s been spending more time up front helping our reception team lately, so we’ll be celebrating him alongside our receptionists. No matter where he’s working, David is an incredibly important part of our clinic, and we’re so lucky to have him. We love you, David!

We are lucky to have some truly incredible people on our team, and this week we’re going to introduce you to each of our veterinary technicians individually. They all bring something different to the table, and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

Stay tuned!!

An Update About Koala Health Text Messages

We want to address some concerns we’ve heard from clients regarding recent text messages from Koala Health, our new online pharmacy.

As part of integrating Koala Health with our existing database, some clients received text messages they weren’t expecting. We understand why this may have raised concerns, and we want to reassure everyone that we have not sold or shared your phone numbers for marketing purposes. These messages were the result of the integration between our systems.

We’ve been in direct communication with Koala Health and have made it clear that we do not want our clients receiving text messages unless they choose to sign up for online prescription services. This issue is being addressed, and you should no longer receive unsolicited messages from Koala Health.

If you continue to receive messages or have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us! We’re happy to help get things sorted out.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition and are always grateful for the trust you place in our team to care for your pets. ❤️

Olivia found mites on Olivia! 😂🔬

Our tech Olivia was checking out a puppy’s ears and found ear mites, so naturally, she had to take a closer look under the microscope. And yes, the puppy’s name is also Olivia. 😂

Ear mites are actually pretty uncommon in dogs, so this was a fun little find for us!

Don’t worry, puppy Olivia has been treated and is doing great! ❤️🐾
