Hey all!!! I am currently going to be working Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. IF you want to snag a Saturday spot and are currently a Monday or Thursday client or if you want to snag a Saturday standing appointment let me know. Saturday availability has always been rare for me amd goes to the clients on a recurring schedule first. If you have a longstanding recurring Monday or Thursday booking and CAN'T move to another day I will still happily keep you on that schedule! I just won't be opening any space Mon or Thurs for new clients. Please message me or comment below if you want me to reach out to you. Nikki will also be looking over holiday bookings and recurring clients booking into next year. Cute picture of the newest addition to our family. His name is Maestro!!

Today marks one year at don’t stress meowt - Groom and Board in Tulsa.
I feel like this year flew by, I feel so happy and at home working for don’t stress meowt - Cat Cafe in Tulsa. I'm thankful for how many of my clients followed me from owning Toe Beans to moving to the café. I'm glad I got to keep caring for sooo many of my regulars and feel even more blessed to have gained new clients from my reputation and referrals from those clients. The last year has seen many of my favorite cats unfortunately pass away and it has been bittersweet to see their families gain new kitty loved ones. I love talking about kitties lost and telling the new cats they have some big shoes to fill in their families hearts. So many new Maine C***s have joined my books which is always so exciting. Here's to year number two at the cat cafè and all the growth and goals I have for my career as a CFMG :) Thanks to all my clients for letting me love and care for your babies.

Today starts three days of virtual education. I have attended this conference every year since 2023.
My clients and I owe a lot to this conference because it gave me the confidence, access to education, and beginning support system I needed to launch Toe Beans, become a Certified Feline Master Groomer, and encourage me to constantly chase continuing education to support my client families and offer them the absolute best care and info I have access too.

I really love when a longer guard comb turns out this beautiful. Honey was a client of mine when I did house call and now comes to see me at the Café. She looks like a perfect cloud.

We wanted to take a moment to clear up a common misconception about our feline boarding services.

We've had several people ask if boarding cats are allowed to spend time in our cat lounge with our rescue partners' adoptable cats. The answer is No and that decision is intentional and based entirely on your cat's health, safety, and well being.

Cats are naturally territorial animals. For many, simply being in a new environment is stressful enough. It often takes 24–48 hours before they begin eating normally, exploring their suite, or feeling comfortable enough to interact with our staff. For our more timid guests, we even monitor our overnight cameras to ensure they are coming out to eat, drink, and use the litter box when the building is quiet.

Every member of our team takes the time to learn each boarding cat's individual personality and body language. Some cats seek out attention, ask for playtime, and happily greet us when we arrive. Others prefer a quieter experience and only want us to enter their suite to provide fresh food, water, and a clean litter box. Neither preference is wrong.

Our commitment is to care for each cat as an individual, not according to what we think they should enjoy. Some guests have favorite staff members. Some avoid certain team members because we smell like other cats from working with them all day. We respect those preferences because earning and maintaining a cat's trust is part of providing quality care.

What we will NEVER do is place a boarding cat into our rescue cat lounge.

Doing so would expose them to unfamiliar cats, unfamiliar people, new scents, and constant activity all while they are already adjusting to being away from home. That level of stimulation is not enrichment; it is overwhelming, stressful, and could put every cat involved at risk.

While our rescue lounge is a wonderful environment for our adoptable cats, it is NOT an appropriate or safe setting for boarding pets. Our responsibility is to provide your cat with a calm, secure, low stress experience tailored to their individual needs not to force social interactions they neither expect nor benefit from.

When you entrust your cat to our care, their comfort and safety will always come first. We appreciate your understanding and your trust in our team to make decisions that prioritize your pet's well being above all else.

Today I met Pawpurred, a SWEET Maine C**n kitten with a great Mom that talked with me and set up his appointments with me a couple months ago. He will be on a monthly schedule for now until he's a bigger boy and we see how his coat grows in. He was so sweet and snuggly, I am so excited to watch him grow up and work with his momma to keep him happy and healthy don’t stress meowt - Groom and Board

My birthday is Tuesday and I am struggling to tell myself no to buying a new artwork that was brought into the café. It's cat's as the Golden Girls it's out of my price range, but it's so awesome. I hope it gets a buyer that will be as obsessed with it as I am lol. Look at them 🥰🥰🥰🥰

‼️ Bobcat Fever is on the rise!‼️The tick population this summer is unusually high and we are seeing an increasing number of cats with bobcat fever. Please inform yourself of the symptoms (read below👇) and call us immediately if you suspect your cat is ill. (918)299-8222

Bobcat fever, called cytauxzoonosis, is a disease that’s spread to cats by ticks, most often the lone star tick. A protozoan organism called Cytauxzoon felis infects the red blood cells of cats after the bite of an infected tick. While bobcats are the main host of the parasite, it can infect all members of the cat family.

While bobcats often do not show any signs of cytauxzoonosis, infected domestic cats can develop very serious illness. Signs of bobcat fever include:

Lethargy or lack of energy
Decreased appetite
Pale gums (due to anemia)
Yellow gums and whites of eyes (jaundice)
Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing
Fever
Without treatment, bobcat fever rapidly progresses, potentially causing hypothermia, seizures and coma. Bobcat fever is often fatal.

Most cases of cytauxzoonosis will require hospitalization in an intensive care unit.. An intravenous catheter will be placed for administration of fluids, blood transfusions and medications. Treatment may involve the administration of imidocarb (antiprotozoal drug) or a combination of atovaquone (antiprotozoal drug) and azithromycin (antibiotic).

If the condition is diagnosed and treated early, around 60% of cats survive. However, most cats are diagnosed after the disease has progressed. In these cases, survival rate is less than 10%. Cats who survive can become carriers. As such, they should remain inside so that ticks don’t bite them and spread the disease.

Cats at the highest risk are those who go outside or indoor cats who live with other animals that go outside. Keeping your cat inside your home and on year-round flea and tick prevention is the best way to prevent bobcat fever in cats.
