Meet Lionel, a 6-year-old Shepherd with a heart as big as his handsome smile. This sweet boy is a Pima Animal Care Center staff and volunteer favorite, and it's easy to see why! He loves spending time with his favorite people, rolling around in the grass, and taking in all the wonderful sights and smells the outdoors has to offer.

Lionel has megaesophagus, which means he needs to eat his meals upright in a Bailey Chair—and he's a total pro! His Bailey Chair will go with him, and the PACC clinic team will show you everything you need to know to help him succeed.

While Lionel is doing well, what he truly needs is a loving home where he can relax, be spoiled, and enjoy life.

How Valley Fever can effect your dog’s brain and nervous system.

Valley Fever is a fungal infection that many pet parents in the Southwest know all too well. While it usually affects the lungs, in some cases the infection can spread to the brain and nervous system, leading to serious, sometimes life-threatening complications. Understanding this form of the disease can make all the difference for your pet’s health and recovery.

Join Dr. Lisa Shubitz, research scientist at the Valley Fever Center for Excellence, for a free educational seminar designed especially for pet parents. Dr. Shubitz will explain how Valley Fever can affect the brain and nervous system, the warning signs to watch for, how veterinarians diagnose it, and what treatment options are available. You’ll also have the chance to bring your questions to one of the field’s leading experts.

Whether your pet was diagnosed with Valley Fever or you simply want to be informed and prepared, this seminar offers valuable, practical knowledge in an casual setting.
