Rain starts the party for pachyderms! Wednesday's storms did not deter the elephant herd from splashing in their pool and enjoying the fresh mud wallows. When the next storm hits Tucson, be sure to visit our website and check out the elephant Zoo Cams so you can enjoy the fun live! See the cams: https://reidparkzoo.org/cameras/elephant-cam/

These beautiful photos were taken by Zoo Guest Ariel Smith for this ! She brought an old second-hand camera to the Zoo and told us "what better place to test it out than at Reid Park Zoo?" We love the creativity and reuse of a second-hand camera, conservation Queen! You can share your photos with us by sending us a Direct Message if you want to be featured in a future Fan Photo Friday 📸

If you've left home without your cooling accessories and gear, fear not! The Discover the Wild gift shop has you covered with cooling towels, hand-held fans, and the cutest capybara umbrellas.

When visiting Reid Park Zoo (or anywhere in Tucson Arizona for that matter) in June, it's important to remember to bring a reusable water bottle, a hat, and to take breaks inside our air conditioned buildings when you need them. Special thanks to Benita for showing off this cool gear ❄️

“You’ll soon be able to travel to Asia without leaving Tucson!” Thank you to the City of Tucson - Government Public Information Office for this great construction sneak peek at Reid Park Zoo’s new Pathway to Asia opening in late 2026.

And huge thank you to our wonderful Tucson community for helping make this incredible new addition, and its important conservation connections, possible.

Reid Park Zoo is a proud supporter of the SAFE Monarch Program who works to conserve monarch butterflies throughout North America.

In the past year, they've created 17 high-quality monarch habitats throughout the monarch's range. In addition, they continuously provided training on the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project, and monarch tagging.

Through their program, as well as the Southwest Monarch Study, Reid Park Zoo is working to empower our local community to take actions for monarchs and pollinators through monarch workshops, regular BioBlitz experiences, and monarch tracking.
