🗒️ International Dog Day or National Dog Day is an annual observance held on August 26 to celebrate dogs of all breeds and backgrounds, promote dog adoption, and raise awareness about the welfare of dogs around the 🌎.

🗒️ It also recognizes working dogs and the roles they play in human society, including service, police, military, and search and rescue dogs.

⛈️ Storm Anxiety in Pets 🐾

Did you know some pets can sense a storm before it even begins? Changes in barometric pressure, wind, and static electricity can all contribute to storm anxiety.

Common signs include:
• Panting
• Pacing
• Trembling
• Hiding
• Excessive barking or whining
• Clinginess
• Trying to escape (having a microchip helps in case your furry friend gets out)

To help your pet, create a quiet, comfortable space, close blinds or curtains, and use calming music or white noise to help mask the sounds of thunder. For some dogs, a ThunderShirt or other anxiety wraps may provide gentle, constant pressure that can have a calming effect.

If your pet struggles with severe storm anxiety, don’t wait until the next storm rolls in. Our team can help you create a plan with behavior tips, calming supplements and, if needed, medications to keep your pet safe and comfortable 🤍
