We sent in the K-9 unit for a very important Pet Pantry mission!

Two of our least expected volunteers headed out to pick up a pallet of dog food and kitty litter from Cody’s Friends for our Pet Pantry.

Hi, I’m Apple Pie, a 2 year old girl who has a few suggestions for winning me over.

First, give me a string toy.

Second, once you get me home, give me treats.

I’m a shy girl, so I’m not always going to be the first cat racing over to say hello. But get out a good string toy and you might discover that I have a whole lot more confidence when there’s something fun happening. Treats will help too, once I’m home and we have our own little routine.

I’m looking for someone who will appreciate a girl who has a playful side that comes out when you find the right combination of toys and snacks. I may be shy at first, but I’ve already given you the cheat code.

October's Sponsored Cat by Wild Birds Unlimited: Wedding Cake!

Affectionate, laid back, and every bit as sweet as her name.

She's not the type to sit at the door when you arrive. You'll often find her tucked into a window bed or settled on the catwalks instead, content to watch and wait for you to find her.

Wedding Cake came to us in April with six babies in tow, all of them looking just like their mama. Those kittens have since found homes of their own, and now it's finally Wedding Cake's turn to find hers.

Don't mistake her calm and gentle demeanor for disinterest. Once you spend a few minutes with her, you'll find she's affectionate, playful, and happy to soak up attention. She'll even follow you around and rub up against your legs if you try to leave before she's ready to let you go.

Good news: Wild Birds Unlimited on Oracle has generously sponsored Wedding Cake's adoption!

All that's left to do is fall in love!
