Chipotle Burritos for our Hermitage Purritos

Take a break from cooking and help support the cats at The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary.

Join us at Chipotle on Tuesday, August 4, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 5353 E Broadway Blvd. Chipotle will donate 25% of event sales to The Hermitage when you participate.

If you know cats, you've probably heard of a "purrito." It's a cat wrapped snugly in a blanket like a burrito. Purritos can help anxious cats feel more secure during handling, make certain medical procedures less stressful, and sometimes keep our staff safe when we're working with a particularly spicy kitty. Plus, they're undeniably adorable.

So while you're enjoying a burrito, you'll be helping provide food, medical care, cozy blankets, and everything else our purritos need.

What makes you choose one cat over another?

For Rachel and Kenny, it wasn't about age, color, or breed. It was about connection.

Raina walked right up to them, soaking up pets and happily letting them hold her. Phantom won them over in her own way, showing her sweet, affectionate personality and making them feel right at home.

Nitrogen (gray and white) was one of the first kittens featured on our new Kitten Cam, and she definitely made an impression. She spent her first days hissing and swatting at the other kittens, and if you were in the room, you could hear her constant little growl. While she wasn't a fan of her new roommates, she absolutely loved any human who stopped by to give her attention.

Fast forward to today, and what a difference! Nitrogen was spotted snuggled up with Ring Bear, and the only sound coming from her was a loud, happy purr.

We're so happy to see she's finally found her place and warmed up to her kitten community. ❤️

Hi, I’m Thelatha, a 4 year old lady who came to The Hermitage with my two sisters, Drei and Trayah.

We were surrendered in 2022 after our family learned we were FeLV+. While life didn't go the way we expected, I've made myself right at home here. You'll often find me lounging around my room or stretching out on the catio, enjoying the fresh air and a nice place to relax.

Medical note: I am FeLV+. Staff is happy to talk to you about what that means. In October 2023, I experienced a couple of seizures. I am currently being monitored for epilepsy, but I have not had any additional seizures since then.

I'm a beautiful young lady with a calm personality, and I'd love nothing more than to trade my favorite lounging spots at the shelter for a cozy place in a home of my very own.

CatVideoFest 2026 starts next week and tickets are on sale now!
