This Bella is a mouse trap in dog form. If anyone touches her they are getting bit, except me. Years ago her Mom brought me Bella saying people can’t groom her bc of her basically only loving her Momma. Within a couple grooms Bella and I established that we can have a functional relationship to get grooming done. Her Mom and her family are still in disbelief I can groom her thoroughly years later. Her Mom still has to hand her over to me b***y first but after that she’s mine to groom without worry of being bit. She’s really a sweet girl and just prefers her one human. She use to be in a teddy bear cut but recently we switched to the classic Miami cut and it’s become her new look. Bella is the cutest little dog and check out that snaggle tooth!

Bella and her gorgeous coat! She’s a Tibetan terrier and her parents expressed wanting to have a coated dog when they came to me. Through a year of growing out and her Moms diligent brushing she maintains this coat on a 6wk schedule. I shave her belly and pits to make it easier for her and trim up her face to keep it clean.

Handstripping is a tool that not many groomers have in their arsenal. At Canine Couture Crystal has over 10yrs experience utilizing this traditional method of grooming. Handstripping isn’t just for terriers. Many mixes also benefit from removing the dead hair in its entirety from the follicle. It helps prevent buildup and blackheads along with maintaining that wonderful “wash and wear” textured coat. Breeds such as spaniels and retrievers also benefit from a type of handstripping called carding. This helps keep the undercoat under control and helps provide the correct texture and lay of coat for these breeds.

Rio was such a good boy once again for his spa day. He’s a baby PWD at just 9mo old. His parents love that he’s done in 2hrs and that he can play with some friends while he waits for them to pick him up. He’s a sweet, happy boy and I’m so glad to have a PWD back in my salon. 🥰

Sweet Sofi got her last groom at Canine Couture before leaving to California. For the last 5mo I’ve been her groomer and the endless supplier of “you’re so cute!!!”, every time I’d look at her. Bichons are one of my absolute favorite breeds. I hope I meet another I can groom soon!
