If you’ve been at one of our events or checked out our website lately, you’ve probably noticed some beautiful new photos looking back at you 👀

A few weeks ago, came out to photograph the Old Souls pack so we could refresh our website and event materials…and people have been loving them!

We’re sharing a few of our favorites and sending a huge THANK YOU to Kara for generously donating her time and talent to help us showcase the amazing rescue animals in our care ❤️

Featured in order: Cocomia, Vinny, Bellini, Ama, Wynston, Cole, Gracie, Piper, Eneko, Akinyi’i, N’dari, Tu’uwa, Esme, Santo, members of the Coop Crew, and one of African sulcata tortoises.

Which portrait is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

Can you tell Cocomia, Boone, and Cole had an absolute blast at Tiki Night? 😴🌺

A huge thank you to and for not only inviting us to such a fun event, but also hosting a donation drive to benefit the rescue animals at Old Souls.

We also said farewell to our wonderful volunteer as she heads off to an exciting new opportunity outside of Tucson. Ashley has been such a valued part of the Old Souls family, and while we’ll miss her dearly, we’re excited for this next chapter and grateful for everything she’s done for the animals in our care.

Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped to say hello to our Old Souls rescue dogs, donated food and funds, and helped make the evening so special! ❤️

You’d never guess how much pain this senior rescue dog was in by looking at his sweet face.

Boone came to the shelter as a stray with quite a list of issues: a grade 5/6 heart murmur, bladder stones requiring surgery, arthritis in both knees, and cataracts affecting his vision.

And somehow, through all of it, Boone was still gentle. Still sweet. Still trusting of humans after being alone for who knows how long!

After surgery, Boone came to Old Souls Animal Rescue to recover with us, and this is settling in beautifully into his new life. He’s making new friends, exploring (and marking his territory in all his new spaces 😂), and has completely won over our volunteers with his sweetness!

His journey is still ongoing, but for the first time in a long time, Boone now has the love, comfort, safety, and dignity every senior dog deserves.

That’s our promise to every rescue animal that walks the our doors.

If Boone’s story moved you, please consider leaving a comment and sharing this post to help more people see him!

And if you’d like to support his ongoing medical care, donations can be made through the link in our bio or at:

IT’S GOAT MOVING TIME! 🐐📦

Not only did we celebrate ’ big milestone this weekend, we also successfully migrated our 9 rescue goats into their new and improved enclosure 🎉

The best part? The move was quick, easy, and completed with zero injuries to humans or animals!
(We can’t say the same for Dr. Paula’s beloved plants though 🤐)

Thanks to everyone who donated funds for supplies, volunteered their time to help build the space, and followed along on this journey. This upgrade would not have been possible without your support ❤️

We had an amazing day at Old Souls today celebrating Vega’s high school graduation with her whole family. With no AC here it was pretty hot, but we got to share food, drink, stories, a party bucket of Eegee’s, and the love and appreciation we all have for Vega. As her second family, we are so proud of her. She is no average teenager - she went to school, volunteered at Old Souls, and worked at Cholla Afterlife, all during her senior year. She is going to do amazing things in this world!

During the party we learned that volunteer Barb wanted to foster Rojo. So we packed him up and off he went. Yaaay Rojo!!!

On today's episode of Living The Dream, we have been without air conditioning for two weeks. Second summer in a row. And we have no idea when it will be fixed.

Thank you Strongbuilt for charging me $17,000 for a new AC unit 3 years ago that is now considered "old" so you can't get the parts in a reasonable amount of time. And you charged me $1,800 just a few weeks ago to replace all the duct work under my house. And if a part gets replaced that needs freon, you said that's not covered under my 10 year warranty so it will cost me thousands more, even though the part itself is covered.

Gracie is having seizures now from the heat and stress, and the 2 portable air conditioners Strongbuilt brought me are blowing the fuses in the house. I am SO MAD!

If there was ever a sign you should volunteer at Old Souls Animal Rescue…THIS. IS. IT 🥹

Join us this Saturday from 7–10am and help us care for these TINY young souls!

This cute little kitten is being temporarily fostered by until she gains enough weight to be spayed and adopted. Once she’s ready, she’ll head back to to find her forever home.

And the baby chick? Just another one say of our “free volunteer eggs” that hatched 😂🐣

Whether you want to cuddle babies, help our senior residents, climb into tortoise burrows, or just be part of the chaos, it truly takes a village and we need all of the help we can get!

Sign up to volunteer with us in just a few clicks at:

This rescue dog’s intake notes at the shelter said to consider euthanasia.

He was severely underweight, barely eating, and too weak to stand for long.

He was also battling Valley Fever that had spread to his spine and pelvis, along with a grade 3–4 heart murmur.

Despite everything stacked against him… ROJO was still trying.

And in his first 48 hours at Old Souls Animal Rescue, we started to see him come back to himself.

Eating more.

Wagging his tail again.

And winning everyone over with his sweet personality and unmistakable underbite.

His recovery still has ups and downs, but ROJO keeps showing us he’s not ready to give up.

So we’re not giving up on him either.

If this rescue dog moved you, please like, comment, share, or repost to help his rescue story reach more people.

And if you’re able, you can support his ongoing medical care through the link in our bio or at:
