Tonight, we said goodbye to a very special member of the Old Town Horse & Pet family.

With heavy hearts, we had to help Mr. Pickles cross the rainbow bridge. His arthritis and age had progressed to the point where he could no longer enjoy the quality of life he deserved. While this was an incredibly difficult decision, it was made out of deep love and respect for a friend who gave us so much.

Mr. Pickles joined our family in April of 2022, and he is the reason our goat petting area exists today. What began with one friendly, lovable goat quickly turned into the joyful chaos of goats that our staff and community came to adore.

We are so grateful for every moment we had with him, and for the happiness he brought to our staff, customers, and community. He will always be part of our story. ❤️🐐

🌾 New Hay Arrival: Triticale Hay! 🌾

Have you heard of triticale? Most people haven’t… but your animals might become big fans of it!

Triticale is a hybrid of wheat and rye, combining the palatability of wheat with the hardiness of rye. The result is a soft, leafy forage that’s often highly enjoyed by horses, goats, sheep, and cattle.

Hondo’s back at it again… working hard sniffing out the best hay deals in town. 🌾🐾

After a thorough inspection (and several suspiciously long sniff sessions), he reports that the hay is looking pretty good around here.
