This is why we do what we do.
People often think pet grooming is about making dogs look cute. Pretty haircuts. Fancy bows. Social media photos.
But sometimes... it's about something so much bigger.
Sometimes it's about helping a dog who has learned to be afraid discover that human hands can be gentle again. It's about earning trust one appointment at a time. It's about slowing down when everyone else says to hurry. It's about choosing compassion over convenience.
Reading this today reminded me why Poodles & Pals has always existed. It was never built to be the fastest salon or the busiest salon. It was built to be a place where dogs like Bo could walk through our doors and be seen for who they were, not judged for what they had been through.
Bo wasn't "the difficult dog." He was funny, stubborn, full of personality, and so incredibly loved. Watching him go from a frightened puppy to a dog who was excited to come see us was one of the greatest privileges of my career.
When I moved to Ohio, one of the hardest goodbyes was knowing I wouldn't get to see dogs like Bo anymore. The only thing that gave me peace was knowing the team I left behind loved him just as fiercely as I did and would continue giving him the patience and kindness he deserved.
To Jacob and Lacy, thank you for trusting us with one of the most important members of your family. Your words mean more than I can ever express.
This is why we advocate. This is why we educate. This is why we refuse to believe that fear should define a dog forever.
Every dog deserves to feel safe. Every family deserves to know their best friend is in compassionate hands.
And every once in a while, a dog like Bo reminds you that you chose exactly the right career.
Rest easy, sweet boy. You were loved more than you'll ever know. 💜

Walking into work today and only seeing one dog on the grooming table felt... wrong.
For the last year and a half, it was always Sophie and Stella. They came together, waited together, and left together. Today, only Stella came in, and it tugged at all of our hearts.
Now don't get me wrong... Stella has always had plenty to say. 😂 She talks through her appointments and firmly believes that continuous petting is a requirement, not a suggestion. If your hands stop, she'll happily remind you they're supposed to be back on her.
But today, underneath all that chatter, you could tell something was different.
Dogs grieve too. They notice when their best friend isn't beside them anymore. The routines change. The car ride changes. Life changes.
So today we gave Stella exactly what she asked for... extra pets, extra love, and a little extra grace.
To Stella's family, we're so incredibly sorry for the loss of sweet Sophie. She was part of our Poodles & Pals family too, and she will always be remembered. We'll keep loving on Stella through this next chapter, making sure she knows she's never walking it alone.
Sometimes healing looks like a wagging tail.
Sometimes it sounds like a very chatty little dog demanding more pets.
And honestly... we wouldn't have it any other way. 💜🐾

Fear has a way of making the world feel very small.
When Ralphie first came to Poodles & Pals, he was terrified. Grooming was so overwhelming that he had never been able to get through an appointment without two different sedatives. His sweet mom would always say he would "shake, rattle, and roll," and she wasn't exaggerating. Anxiety controlled so much of his world.
But we believed there was a confident little dog hiding underneath all that fear.
So we slowed down. We listened to what Ralphie was telling us instead of asking him to simply "get over it." We celebrated every tiny win, never rushed him, and let trust become the foundation of every visit.
Little by little, something incredible happened.
The shaking became less. His eyes softened. His tail started to wag. The little boy who once arrived terrified now walks through our doors with confidence. He greets us like old friends, enjoys his spa days, and has even discovered that other dogs aren't so scary after all.
Today, Ralphie has been groomed without sedatives for almost a year.
That isn't just a grooming success.
That's a dog who has found confidence. A family who no longer has to worry before every appointment. A life that has become a little bigger because fear no longer gets the final say.
His mom trusted the process, and Ralphie did the bravest thing a fearful dog can do. He chose to trust us back.
We couldn't be prouder of you, sweet boy. Watching you blossom has been one of the greatest gifts. This is why we do what we do.

Looking at what my Tucson team has built fills me with so much pride. ❤️

When I started Poodles & Pals, it was just a dream. A vision of doing things differently. Putting humanity over vanity, treating every dog like family, and creating a place where kindness mattered just as much as skill.

Today, that dream isn't just surviving, it's thriving.

To my incredible team, thank you. Thank you for showing up every day with your whole hearts. Thank you for loving our clients and their dogs as fiercely as I do. Thank you for protecting the culture we worked so hard to create. Thank you for proving that Poodles & Pals was never just about me, it was about all of us.

Being over 1,800 miles away hasn't been easy, but watching you continue to grow, support one another, and uphold the standards we built together has been one of the greatest gifts.

You haven't just kept my dream alive. You've helped it flourish.

I truly couldn't do this without each and every one of you. I am endlessly grateful, unbelievably proud, and so honored to have such an amazing team carrying the torch.
