Summer heat waves are expected this year and our pets rely on us to keep them safe from the dangers of extreme temperatures.
๐ฅ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ต๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐:
๐ Never leave a pet unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes
๐ง Ensure fresh, cool water is always available.
๐ Keep pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day.
๐ณ Provide plenty of shade if pets must be outside.
๐ถ Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.
๐ฅ Test pavement with the back of your handโif it's too hot for you to hold for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your pet's paws.

โข Weakness or lethargy
โข Bright red gums
โข Vomiting or diarrhea
โข Collapse or seizures
Some pets are at higher risk, including brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, senior pets, overweight pets, and those with underlying medical conditions.
