Hi! I’m Susan, the Petco Dog Trainer in Troy. It’s possible we have not met… yet. I am a serious yet fun dog trainer who works hard to balance clear structure, safety and science-based rules with a lighthearted, playful and encouraging attitude for both you and your dog.
My aim is to be:
Clear and Focused: I take safety, animal behaviour science and your goals seriously. I do not use quick fixes or aggressive punishments but will hold firmly to consistency and criteria.
Playful and Positive: I use high-energy praise, games and toys to make learning rewarding for your dog. I can laugh off mistakes instead of getting frustrated.
Empathetic Coach: I will treat you with patience, knowing that changing human habits is just as hard as training a dog. I welcome your questions rather than acting defensive.
Practical Vibe: I encourage wearing comfortable, movement-friendly clothing and shoes. Treat pouches should be handy and utilized. If I bring my own dog in as a “demo” he will be calm, responsive and happy.
