“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” — 2 Corinthians 4:8–9

These words from Paul have touched my heart deeply.

The last couple of years have been some of the hardest of our lives. There has been profound loss, uncertainty, heartbreak, and moments when the weight of everything felt almost unbearable. The journey of building Crossing Arrows Ranch into what we have dreamed it could be has been filled with obstacles, setbacks, and times when we wondered how we would ever make it through.

But somehow, through it all, we have continued moving forward.

And along the way, we have been reminded that even in our hardest seasons, there is so much to be grateful for.

We have been blessed by incredible people who have offered their time, their hands, their encouragement, their prayers, and their hearts. Some have stepped in when we needed them most, often without even realizing how much their kindness meant. To each of you, our gratitude is deeper than words can express.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful things about this journey is realizing that even while we have been struggling ourselves, we have been creating a place where others can come to heal.

Crossing Arrows Ranch was born from a belief that healing happens through connection — with ourselves, with others, with animals, with nature, and with something greater than ourselves.

And maybe that is part of God’s purpose in all of this. Not that we must suffer to find meaning, but that even through suffering, something beautiful can continue to grow.

We are still building. Still healing. Still learning to trust when we cannot see what lies ahead.

But every time we witness someone find a little peace, rediscover their strength, or experience a connection they thought they had lost, we are reminded of why we began this journey.

Our dream has never been simply to build a ranch. It has been to create a place where people can feel safe enough to find themselves again.

To everyone who has walked beside us, believed in this mission, and helped us continue when the road felt impossible — thank you.

We may have been struck down, but we have not been destroyed.

And for that, we are incredibly grateful. ❤️

❤️🐴 Big Red is learning some important life lessons!

As he finds his place in the herd, the older mares are teaching him about boundaries, respect, and healthy relationships.

In Natural Lifemanship, we understand that boundaries aren’t about control or rejection. They’re about creating safety, trust, and connection.

Just like in our own lives, Big Red is discovering that healthy relationships allow us to be ourselves while respecting the needs of others.

Sometimes the greatest lessons in life come from the herd. ❤️

❤️🐴 Big Red “Iroh” is showing us just how powerful the connection between horses and humans can be.

When Iroh first arrived at Crossing Arrows Ranch, he was afraid to connect. For much of his life, his relationships with humans had been about control rather than choice. He hadn’t really been given the opportunity to have a voice.

And isn’t that something so many of us can relate to?

Whether through the way we were parented, relationships in the workplace, or intimate relationships, many of us have experienced connections built around control rather than trust, safety, and mutual respect.

Watching Iroh begin to understand that he has a choice, that his boundaries matter, and that connection doesn’t have to mean surrendering control has been incredibly powerful.

This is what healthy attachment is about. ❤️

Learning that relationships can feel safe. That trust doesn’t have to be forced. That connection can happen without fear.

And sometimes, the most beautiful healing happens when we finally realize we have a choice.

Iroh isn’t just becoming an incredible therapy horse. He’s reminding us of something deeply human: We all deserve relationships where we feel safe, seen, respected, and free to be ourselves. 🐴❤️

❤️🐴 Welcome “Big Red,” aka Iroh, to the Crossing Arrows Ranch family!

He is already settling in and showing us just how happy and friendly he is. Iroh LOVES to greet everyone and seems pretty pleased with his new home. 🥰

The girls, on the other hand, are still deciding what they think of the new guy 😂 They’re keeping him at bay for now and making sure he knows who’s in charge!

We’re so excited to get to know Iroh and see how he connects with people during sessions. There’s something special about watching a new horse find his place in the herd, and eventually in the healing work we do here. ❤️

A Fairview family is mourning the loss of a local business owner while turning their grief into a message of hope for others struggling with mental health.

With heavy hearts, we share an update we never wanted to have to make.

Greg Smith, Spencer’s brother, who has been missing for the past two weeks, was found this morning and has passed away.

We are devastated.

To every person who shared his photo, watched for him, reached out, prayed, searched, and helped our family hold onto hope—thank you. We will never be able to fully express how much your support has meant to us during these incredibly difficult weeks.

Right now, our family needs time and space to grieve, process this tremendous loss, and surround one another with love.

Please keep Spencer, Greg’s family, and everyone who loved him in your prayers in the days ahead.

Thank you for standing beside our family and Crossing Arrows through something we never imagined we would be facing.

It has been just over a year since Spencer lost his dad to su***de, and now our family is facing another incredibly difficult and frightening situation. Spencer’s brother has been missing for just over a week.

We have contacted the news, and Spencer recently shared his story in hopes that someone, somewhere, may have seen him or knows something that could help bring him home.
