This sweet girl came in after a suspected bee sting with one VERY swollen face—and she looked like a little cartoon character! 🥹 After some medications and a little TLC, she was back to her normal self in no time. ❤️

And the best part? Her tail never stopped wagging the entire time! 🥰🐾 What a brave little girl!

🚨 Toxin Ingestion? Don’t Wait! 🐾

Dogs are curious—and sometimes that curiosity leads to eating something they definitely shouldn’t! From medications and household products to certain foods, plants, and other substances, toxin ingestion can quickly become an emergency.

If you think your pet has gotten into something toxic, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your veterinarian or an animal poison control service right away, and have the product/package available if possible. And please don’t induce vomiting unless a veterinary professional tells you to—for some toxins, vomiting can actually make things worse.

Some puppies just have to learn the hard way! 🐾 This little guy decided to eat something he shouldn’t, but thankfully his owners brought him in quickly. We were able to safely make him vomit and get it out before it could cause any trouble! 💕🐶 And don’t worry, he got plenty of cuddles and belly rubs to help make his visit a little better!

🦟🐾 August Reminder: Don’t Let Ticks & Mosquitoes Bug Your Pets!

August means plenty of time outdoors—but unfortunately, the bugs are enjoying summer too! 😅

Ticks and mosquitoes can still be active this time of year, especially after hikes, camping trips, and long days outside.

A few simple ways to help protect your pets:
🌲 Check for ticks after outdoor adventures
🦟 Keep your pet on a veterinarian-recommended parasite prevention plan
💧 Avoid letting pets drink from stagnant water
🏕️ Give your furry friend a quick once-over after camping or hiking
🐾 Don’t forget those hard-to-check spots like between the toes, around the ears, and under collars!

Summer adventures are better when the only things your pet brings home are happy memories—and maybe a little dirt. ❤️

Living in Northern Michigan means our pets sometimes get a little too curious about the wildlife around them! 🌲🐕

From porcupines and skunks to other unexpected backyard visitors, encounters with wildlife can turn a normal adventure into an emergency pretty quickly.

🦔 Porcupine quills? Don’t try to remove them yourself—quills can break or become embedded deeper in the tissue.

🦨 Skunk spray? Before reaching for the tomato juice, try this tried-and-true de-skunking mixture:

🦌 Wildlife bite or scratch? Even a small wound can carry a risk of infection, so veterinary attention is important.

🐾 Our biggest tip: Keep curious noses away from wildlife and give wild animals plenty of space. If your pet does have an encounter, don’t wait for things to get worse before calling your veterinarian.
