I honestly love the drama of dahlias so much (Gabrielle speaking, Eyvonne's vote is still coming in 🤭) The first frost is both sad and an invitation to slow down and start planning for next year. Soon we'll be digging, counting inventory, processing seeds, and monitoring storage, but for now we pause and just feel grateful for what a fantastic season it's been. 🥰

Our website is up to date with most varieties we'll have available. We have a good mix of reliable workhorses, oddball unique ones, and last year's unicorns. 💗 Link in bio.

Three lovely shades of cool pink 💗

Bloomquist Mojo
Lee's Dragonfruit Fizz
And a mislabel we're calling "Probably Peter" 🤭 We don't know if he even has a name, but we like him and he looks like Peter, so Probably Peter he is!

🏆 And the award for Ultimate Flower Survivor goes to… Mission Galactica!

We totally neglected to clean up our dahlia flat lay from September 24th, and nature turned our laziness into an accidental endurance competition. 😅

While every other variety turned into soggy mush after 10 days left out on the picnic table in the pouring rain, wind, cold nights, and warm days, this absolute warrior is still holding onto most of her petals today. Not her most flattering photo but still impressive!

Talk about serious vase-life goals!

This dahlia is called Maarne (Sylvia). She's not a unicorn, easy to find, inexpensive, not fussy, makes plenty of tubers, sturdy stems, and has the most lovely sherbet hue perfect for fall arrangements. 🧡🍂

Scrolling through flower photos on a rainy day and found this one. This exact butterfly probably pollinated the seed pods from our previous post. This dahlia is called Orange Hype, and I know I harvested this exact stem for that bundle. How cool is that?!

Seed collecting season has officially begun!

September is when the dahlias really shine!!

Not everyone was blooming in time for flat lays, but eventually we'll get around to labeling these with variety names 🥰

I asked Eyvonne what the really dark red one is in the middle of her picture (grey background) and she said "oh that's The Grim, you know, that super dark seedling you made me keep at the end of the row."

Well, I guess we have a name picked out for that one. 😅😂
