Did you know the American Humane Association named June as Adopt-A-shelter Cat Month in 1974?

Shelters are full of cats and kittens in needs of forever homes. These feline fur babies come with as many personalities as they do colors and coats. They curl into our hearts and will just as quickly remind us they decide who they love. Whether they were born in the shelter, surrendered or abandoned, 3.4 million find their way to a shelter.

National Adopt a Cat Month in June encourages us to remember our feline friends when considering a new pet. 😻

At Travelers Rest Animal Hospital, one of our favorite things is learning together!

Matt had been training our newest veterinary assistant, Baileigh, in the lab. From learning how to properly set up bloodwork and diagnostic tests to identifying what she’s seeing under the microscope, Baileigh is gaining hands-on experience that helps ensure every patient receives the best possible care.

Behind every healthy pet is a dedicated team committed to accuracy, education, and teamwork. We’re excited to watch Baileigh grow her skills and grateful for team members like Matt who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Here’s to learning, growing, and working together to keep our patients happy and healthy! 🐾💞

🐾 Meow Monday 🐾

George recently visited us for a neuter procedure with Dr. Jennifer McDavid, and he quickly stole every heart in the hospital. From the moment he arrived, he was nothing but sweet, affectionate, and ready for cuddles. In fact, he was such a purr-fect patient that no one wanted to put him down!

Whether he was lounging in laps, soaking up attention, or showing off those handsome golden eyes, George reminded us why we love what we do. We’re happy to report he’s recovering well and continuing his mission of spreading feline charm wherever he goes 🧡 superstar!
