It's been a wild 24 hrs. First, we committed to 5 shelter doxies without having any place for them. As we began to work on this, a new foster home suddenly gave us 24 hrs to have her foster dog out of the home.

A reliable long term foster agreed to take the dog that was being evicted (but this took a slot that one of the 5 was going to get. Sigh). He's now happy and safe.

And our fabulous transport volunteers came through again for the 5 pack. Glendy Summers volunteered her husband Scott to do the Fresno to Los Altos trip. Scott was at the shelter just when they wanted him to be and did the long haul from Fresno. They arrived about 1 pm and it was chaotic to say the least.

We are thrilled to report they are all friendly (but shy). Terrified as they were, they allowed hands to reach into their crate with no attempt to bite. We need to split them up into singletons or pairs in order to be able to work with them. Right now they are the Borg. One hive mind. Five bodies.

They all are supposedly 3 yrs old and their teeth support that. We think they are littermates that were just left in the backyard to grow up.

Reunited and it feels so good :-)

We got a litter of darling dachshunds puppies earlier in the month. Yesterday, they were 4 months old so it was time to have them all fixed, micro chipped and vaccinated.

We had to split them into 2 different foster homes, so the siblings got to have a fun reunion at the vet clinic.

VCA Antioch Animal Hospital has a donation bin that benefits animal nonprofits. This month, we are the recipient of the donation bin!

When we picked up today, it was overflowing! There were even ramps. 🥹

*PAWSOME Pupdate! Within minutes of posting the need for a ride, Willis has secured a limo for his day at the tooth spa! What a fab community we have. 🥰

The most popular dog we've had in a long time is Lodi, a Dachshund-French Bulldog mix. Alas we only have one of him.

However, we do have Nessie. Everyone who looks at this puppy guesses Dachshund (the mom, so we know this part for sure) and either French Bulldog or Pug as the dad. We have no idea if either dad guess is right. We had expected dad was going to prove to have been a chi terrier mix of some sort, but as Nessie grew, she has fat paws and legs. She is cute as a button. Because she is a mix, we expect her to be OK with children. Her mom is as sweet as they come and Nessie seems to have the same personality.

It's been a busy 5 days. On Tuesday, we had 2 dogs at The Pet Advocate getting medical care. On Wednesday we had 6!! Then yesterday we moved our two darling mix puppies from Merced to Los Altos. Supermodel Wyatt got his first ever walk - he loved it and could have gone for miles! Now he is trying to figure out how to play with his newly arrived foster sisters as they are much smaller than he is. We also took in a new owner surrender dachshund yesterday. Poor boy was so miserable and uncomfortable, we had to immediately get him to the vet.
