Animal Rescue of Tracy

Animal Rescue of Tracy Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

9 lucky “furbabies” found their FOREVER homes last week. We are so excited they are beginning their lives in some amazing families (except Rue who is remaining with his foster family who could not let him go.)

We still have over 150 cats in Rescue plus the “Ohana” Litter of Border Collie puppies, Cash & Cocoa looking for homes. Check out their bios on our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org.

TODAY (May 30th) is INTERNATIONAL HUG YOUR CAT DAY! Join us at our ADOPTION FAIR today (and tomorrow) to meet your FOREVER “FURBABY” to take home and shower with HUGS today and every day.

INTERNATIONAL HUG YOUR CAT DAY highlights the emotional and health benefits of the human-cat relationship. Spending time with cats can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and provide a sense of companionship, contributing positively to mental and physical well-being. So adopting a cat is just as much for the lucky feline you choose (and who chooses you) and you!

Here are just some of our amazing cats/kittens looking for their FOREVER HOMES. You can find bios on our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org for ALL our adoptable cats & of course dogs CASH, COCOA & our newest canine additions — our “OHANA” litter of Border Collie mix puppies not ready just yet for meet & greets or adoption.

This was a very special weekend at Animal Rescue of Tracy. These very special “furbabies” found their FOREVER homes

Also exciting was an unexpected donation of HANDMADE BLANKETS from a “Savvy Senior” (who made them with her friend). In addition they dropped off some desperately needed supplies for our adoptable cats/kittens and dogs/puppies. Here is just part of the donation with the donors and our wonderful ART Junior Volunteers/Interns

As a 501c3 non-profit, All Volunteer Rescue, we can only continue to help deserving cats & dogs find forever homes with the support of members of the community. For more info about how to help, go to our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org.

This Memorial Day let’s remember the K9 handlers and their "partners" who also paid the ultimate sacrifice. There have been & continue to be “War Dogs”throughout the world whose sacrifice cannot be measured.

Spend “Caturday” with Animal Rescue of Tracy and meet some AMAZING, Adoptable cats & dogs. We have new arrivals like Nimbus & Cumulus, older cats like Zara who has been looking for a FOREVER home for some time and this will be the first day we’ll have a cute litter of Border Collie mixes. The puppies are not ready for adoption yet, but soon they will be.

We need ADOPTERS for all our deserving “furbabies”. Without homes to go to, we can’t continue to SAVE LIVES.

For info about all our adoptable “furbabies”, go to our website….www.animalrescuetracy.org.

Join us in welcoming this little family into the world. There was no time to terminate the mother's pregnancy, so overnight this beautiful Tabico (coloring mix of Tabby & Calico) gave birth to a litter of four. Judging from the smile on her face, MISTY is content being a new mother.

When the kittens are old enough, they, along with Mom, will be spayed or neutered and be available for adoption. This will be at least 8-9 weeks from now, so there is no need to inquire at this time. If, however, you would like to donate toward their care and their mother's care, you can visit our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org.

This is just one more cautionary tale about the importance of spaying or neutering feral and community cats, as well as pets. If you are concerned about the cost, check with your local shelter about low-cost spay/neuter programs or vouchers. For the cost of a $5 coffee 3 times a month for a year, you can get a FEMALE fixed at a local Spay/Neuter Clinic like Pet Advocate here in Tracy. Females can get pregnant at 4 months old and have an average litter of 4-6 kittens.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Roberta and the rest of the VFW Tracy Post for allowing Animal Rescue of Tracy to be a part of the 2026 Vets & Pets Event at Dr Powers Park earlier today.

We had a great TEAM of high school students helping at not only our booth, but also with other booths throughout the day. THANK YOU to ART volunteers Crystal, Angela & Carolyn for organizing and staffing the booth all day and to the entire ART TEAM who mobilized to handled our weekend Adoption Fair at the West Valley Mall short staffed.

Enjoy these pictures of the TEAM and a lucky raffle winner.

Reminder…. We are CLOSED tomorrow for Mother’s Day.
