Join us in welcoming this little family into the world. There was no time to terminate the mother's pregnancy, so overnight this beautiful Tabico (coloring mix of Tabby & Calico) gave birth to a litter of four. Judging from the smile on her face, MISTY is content being a new mother.
When the kittens are old enough, they, along with Mom, will be spayed or neutered and be available for adoption. This will be at least 8-9 weeks from now, so there is no need to inquire at this time. If, however, you would like to donate toward their care and their mother's care, you can visit our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org.
This is just one more cautionary tale about the importance of spaying or neutering feral and community cats, as well as pets. If you are concerned about the cost, check with your local shelter about low-cost spay/neuter programs or vouchers. For the cost of a $5 coffee 3 times a month for a year, you can get a FEMALE fixed at a local Spay/Neuter Clinic like Pet Advocate here in Tracy. Females can get pregnant at 4 months old and have an average litter of 4-6 kittens.
