Here we go again! Yep, it's about that time of year when the snakes will be out and about..... Not one of ours but just last week we got word of a Rattle Snake bite in Placer County, Ca. In our experience one of the best tools in helping to keep your dog safe while in snake territory is attending a "Snake Avoidance Class". The goal is to help your canine to understand that snakes are not a thing to mess with (and it helps the snakes too!). K9 Development has teamed up with Get Rattled in order to bring you this unique training opportunity. If you're interested please just give us a call at (209) 858-5134 and we can answer any questions you may have or help sign you up for the program!

I had the honor and privilege of being an instructor for Santa Barbra County Search and Rescue a few weeks ago. I'm sorry that I didn't get better pictures of this most excellent team in action! My problem is I wasn't there to take pictures but.......... Sometimes I just can't help myself! Thank you SBCSAR for your trust and hospitality!

Awhile back I was sitting on the porch when I see a line of vehicles appear, driving in formation. Almost perfect combat intervals.............. For almost 40 years now (I should be used to it) but I still contemplate if I should run or go grab training gear!

Sorry, I've been M,I,A of late. Just life in the training lane! Ever completing circles............ As I always say, there is time to post about it or time to do it. The last several months I've been doing it, so no time to post about it! What started off as a kid who just wanted to train dogs has turned into a grand adventure! I remember a young Jack who used to watch one of his early teachers dogs and kennels while he was training abroad. I asked " Isn't it cool, getting to go all over the world training?" He replied, "It's training fields and hotel rooms. Really, it's not that sexy....." It didn't make since to me at the time. Today, I get it. While cool, the road can be a lonely place and it does start to wear on you. Now, I'm not complaining and life is good. It's just sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going? I did 4 different states this summer, either teaching, being taught or learning to teach better. When I got back on the block, it was working with students, chores, family and overall catch up. It's a dog trainers life...................

When all of the hard work pays off! again it's been a great week for me. Got a walk up trailing find, a cadaver find and a live find area dog certified. Live is good, but the most touching for this old dog is watching his daughter work her first trail! It really doesn't get any better!
