September Is National Service Dog Month 🐾💙

September is also National Service Dog Month, a time to recognize and celebrate these incredible working dogs and the important role they play in the lives of people with disabilities.

Service dogs receive advanced, specialized training to perform specific tasks that help an individual with a disability do things they may not be able to do on their own. Their skills, dedication, intelligence, and commitment are truly amazing.

These hardworking dogs make a tremendous difference every day and deserve our appreciation and respect for all that they do. 🐕‍🦺❤️

Thank you to all the service dogs—and the people who train and care for them—for the incredible work you do!

September Is Animal Pain Awareness Month 🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when they’re hurting, and it can be difficult to recognize the signs of pain. Pain can be caused by an injury, arthritis, skin infections, dental disease, or an underlying condition.

As a veterinary hospital, we provide thorough examinations and a variety of diagnostic tools—including radiographs, ultrasound, and bloodwork—to help determine what may be causing your pet’s discomfort.

Once we identify the cause, appropriate treatment and medications can help manage pain and improve your pet’s comfort and quality of life. ❤️

If you think your pet may be in pain, don’t wait. Call us today at 978-597-5828 to schedule an appointment.

🐶🐱 Because they deserve to feel their best!

🌈🐾 Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today is a day to remember the wonderful pets we have loved and lost. While we think about them often, take a little extra time today to pause, remember, and honor the special place they held in your life.

Allow yourself to feel whatever comes—sadness, happiness, laughter, or even a few tears—as you think about all the memories and moments you shared together. ❤️

Our pets may no longer be by our side, but they will always be a part of our hearts. Their paw prints remain with us forever, and we will never forget the love they gave us. 🐾🌈

Today, remember them. Celebrate them. And cherish the memories. 💕

These two LOVE going for rides and are always ready to hit the road! 🛣️🐶 In fact, they get so excited that they start barking with happiness the moment the engine starts! 😂❤️

We absolutely loved having these happy travelers visit us! 🥰🐾

Does your pet get excited when they hear the car start? 🚙🐕🐈 Tell us about it in the comments! 👇💬

🐱 Tomorrow is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! 🩺

Sometimes we forget that even our indoor-only cats need regular veterinary care. Annual wellness exams and rabies vaccinations are important parts of keeping our cats healthy, happy, and safe.

Routine exams can also help detect problems that may not be obvious at home, including heart disease, abnormal lumps and bumps, and dental disease.

If your cat hasn’t visited the vet hospital in a while, now is a great time to schedule their yearly exam! ❤️

📞 Call us at 978-597-5828 to schedule an appointment.

Your cat may not thank you for the carrier ride… but their health will! 🐾

🐾 Itchy Pet Awareness Month 🐾

Is your pet constantly scratching, licking, chewing, or rubbing? There can be many reasons for an itchy pet. Allergies, fleas and ticks, and skin infections can all cause discomfort—but thankfully, there are ways to help! ❤️

For fleas and ticks, monthly prevention such as NexGard, Bravecto, and Simparica Trio can help protect your pets.

When allergies or skin infections are suspected, the process starts with a thorough exam. We’ll address any damaged or irritated skin and work to determine what is causing the itch so we can create the right treatment plan.

For severely itchy dogs, medications such as Apoquel and Cytopoint may provide relief. Cats with significant itching may also benefit from medications such as prednisolone, when appropriate.

If your pet is itchy or experiencing other skin problems, don’t let them suffer! 🐶🐱

📞 Call us today at 978-597-5828 to schedule an appointment and let’s get your pet feeling comfortable again! 💙🐾

Today is Clear the Shelters Day! 🐾❤️ While we love celebrating all of our amazing patients, today we'd like to shine a spotlight on a wonderful dog who is still searching for her forever family.

Meet Cleo! 🐶💕

Cleo is a beautiful 9-year-old Bernerdoodle looking for the perfect home. She would do best as the only pet in the household and in a home without small children due to resource guarding. Once she knows you're her person, she's a loving companion who enjoys the simple things in life—especially long walks and swimming! 🌊🐾

She's also a superstar at both the veterinary hospital and the groomer! ⭐ Cleo is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, so she's ready to start her next chapter.

Cleo is currently being cared for by Norman's Place. If you think you could give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, please contact the rescue directly through their website at normansplace.org/contact-us.

Let's help Cleo find the forever family she's been waiting for! 🏡❤️ Please like, share, and spread the word! 🐾
