The heart behind Farewell My Friend 🤍

As a veterinarian, Dr. Amy Ruksznis has spent years caring for pets and the people who love them. Throughout her career, she’s seen firsthand how meaningful the end-of-life experience can be, and how important it is for families to feel supported through it.

Farewell My Friend grew from her vision of creating something different. A place dedicated entirely to end-of-life care, where families could have the time, privacy, and comfort they deserve during one of the most difficult parts of loving a pet.

That vision continues to shape the care we provide today, from the first conversation with a family to the thoughtful details of each appointment.

Belle is a sweet, affectionate 10-year-old black cat who recently lost her beloved owner. We’re helping her find a loving family for her next chapter.

This social girl loves people and companionship. She enjoys exploring around the house, finding a comfortable spot to relax, and spending time with her people. She also has a festive tradition: every October, Belle came to her veterinary visit dressed in a Halloween costume! 🎃

**What kind of home does Belle need?**

Belle must be the **only cat**, but she enjoys the company of dogs. A calm, loving home where she can have plenty of companionship would be a wonderful fit. She is up to date on all veterinary care.

Belle has shown so much sweetness through a big life change. Now she needs a family to help her feel at home again.

🍂 Fall allergies aren't just for humans! 🐾

While we're reaching for tissues, our pets might be dealing with seasonal allergies of their own!

Unlike people, who often experience sneezing and watery eyes, pets tend to show their allergies through their skin.

Keep an eye out for:

🐾 Excessive paw licking or chewing
👂 Itchy, irritated ears or frequent head shaking
🐶 Scratching, rubbing, or biting at their skin
🍁 Redness or irritated skin, especially around the paws, belly, and face

Fall allergens can make our four-legged friends uncomfortable, too!

If your pet seems extra itchy this season, give us a call. We can help figure out what's causing the discomfort and get them feeling better. ❤️
