PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST. I'M GETTING MESSAGES WITH QUESTIONS AND THE POST CLEARLY SAYS I AM DOING THE OWNER A FAVOR. YOU MUST TALK TO THE OWNER!!
ATTN: I do not know this dog. I'm simply advertising her because she needs a new home. All questions should be addressed to the phone number attached to this bio. She is in Maine and is spayed.
Beautiful black and white 9-month-old female Great Dane needing a home. She is healthy and up to date with all vaccines and requirements, she is just too much for our large family with small children. Our vet has said she has an alpha personality. We have put a lot of time, love and training into her, and we feel that she could be an amazing dog and want her to go to a wonderful loving home. We think she would do best with an experienced owner, and maybe not such a large family, so she is secure with her place and not constantly challenging the order. Navah also rides well in our SUV. She enjoys going for drives, she looks out the window for a while and then will lay down and nap. She has been trained on a Herms Sprenger collar, which has revolutionized our walks. She walks beautifully with it and definitely enjoys her outings. She also gets treated with high quality chicken meat on the walks, which she loves. Navah does seem to need lots of walks and ways to expel her energy. She is intelligent and we try to find ways to mentally engage her, as well. If she was not so set on getting her way, such as during training sessions, she would be very quick learning. We take her through Tractor Supply Company once in a while, as well. She does pretty well, but I always have the Herms Sprenger collar on so she will not pull and we can lead her. Again, she is timid, but does not show aggression.
We work on the basic commands frequently and have a lot of house rules pertaining to her training to help keep her in her place and teach her boundaries and manners.
We have a very busy household with children of all ages, and as soon as the older children or adult leave the room, she will try to either dominate over some of the younger children, or try to get away with a something she is not supposed to have.
She needs an experienced owner who is willing to give her the attention she needs and continue obedience training to help her learn her place. Our phone number is 207-267-5845 or 207-694-8871
