The B-Irv Garden

The B-Irv Garden is a small, family run, first generation garden and greenhouse. We classify ourselves as a "tiny urban farm".

We provide our community with locally grown seedlings, tulip bouquets, fall mums, and farm fresh veggies.

10/19/2026

This year we are going to try to overwinter some of our pepper plants.

Just before the first hard frost we harvested all the peppers left on these plants, then pruned them back and removed all the foliage. We dug them up, put them in pots, and they will be coming inside until the spring.

The hope is that they will have a jump start next season and produce more fruits. I've only ever read about doing this and have been too late to dig up any peppers the last few years.

This will be a fun little project/experiment for the off-season and hopefully we will have some peppers early next season!

Final mum blow out! We only have a handful left. Our self-serve stand will be open today and tomorrow (or until sold out).

Revamping our vegetable garden beds into a more efficient layout. The assortment of boxes were taken out and replaced them with four long beds running east to west. Adding compost and making paths with wood chips. We are about half way done!

Today is the final day of our mum sale, and we still have plenty of stock!

Its now officially fall! The mums are absolutely loving the warm days coupled with cool mornings and evenings. They are thriving and ready for your door steps!

Yesterday we did some root maintenance and top dressed the mums. These are about to EXPLODE into fall color! The best part is they will be ready to bring home this weekend. Don't miss it!

Our annual mum sale is just one week away! Here are the details:

Where: 2 Wood Avenue in Topsham

When: Saturday September 26th through Sunday September 27th

Time: 10am until Sunset each day (or until sold out)

Cost: Smaller mums $5 each (first picture)
Larger/Multicolor mums $10 each or 3 for $25 (second picture) Cash and Venmo accepted. This will be set up for self serve, however I will be around to restock and organize as I can throughout both days.

This is only our second time growing mums, so we are still learning the fine art of growing these fall favorites - which is one of the reasons why we have two different size options this year. These mums are hardy, healthy, have sturdy stems, and are just about ready to burst into full flowers. We couldn’t have timed it better!
