Well this coming Friday is day 63. At the lower left there is a circled head and to the right there appears to be another head and spine. Go straight up is another head and to the right there seems to be another head and there is ribcage too. So I'm saying 10-11. Once over 8 pups it is hard to get an accurate count.
Jo has colostrum in and is having some precontractions too, but not in pre-labor yet. We have had no significant temp drop that would indicate pre-labor is starting and Jo has not gone off her food yet.
Everything is ready. Whelping box has been sanitized, and we have all the supplies we need.Its all up to Jo now. Our dogs the majority of deliveries have gone 63 days if not then a day sooner.

Week 9 - Home Stretch

Today is day 1 of week 9. We took Jo for her puppy count x-ray this morning and her Dr thinks we have 9, maybe 10 pups this time. He said Jo looks great and everything looks good puppy wise. Her belly has dropped in preparation for delivery. She is resting more and we are leaving her food out so she can eat as she wants. I will start taking her temperature twice a day now.
Here’s what is happening this week:

Week Nine
On days 56 - 63, the pups are ready for birth and may be quite still as they rest in preparation for the marathon to come. When your dog is ready to give birth she may appear uncomfortable and restless or anxious. Time to begin taking re**al temperature readings 12 hours apart. Normal temperature is 100 to 101 F; a drop down near 97 F held for two consecutive readings indicates labor will begin within 24 hours.

We are starting into week 8 of the Jo x Zeke pregnancy. As you can see Jo is getting rather large. After this litter we will skip the next heats for both Jo and Edi. So it will likely be May 2027 before we breed Edi and Jo should be sometime around August 2027 before we breed her. Depending on the size of the litter Edi has, it might be her last litter.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. These two pics are a couple of our dogs we bred. The black roan is from our most recent litter . She is a Cash and Edi female pup that is 4 months old named Jules. The bigger female is Liesel, and she I believe was from Amara's first breeding with Deke from TFK and is 5+ years old. Pics are from their owner Les Csorba.
We started our Kennel with Raina, Princes Fine Gun Dogs. We bred her to Standing Stones Kennel's Vex. From those 4 breedings we kept 3 females, Amara, Gidge, and Edi. These 3 have proven to produce solid hunters and Family dogs. As we move forward Cash has been influential in both confirmation and continued strong hunting skills and more of an off switch in the home. Cash (Becks Wasatch sharp shooting gsps)was a one off breeding in Utah.
From a Cash and Amara breeding we kept Jo. She has followed her mom Amara's lead in producing litters that are consistent from first born to last when paired with Rusty Osborne's Sundance dog Zeke .
Amara and Gidge are now retired and Edi has one more breeding or hopefully 2. We are looking forward to Jo's current breeding for a possible female. That will be the last female we possibly keep.
More than anything we have enjoyed placing these pups with awesome families, whether hunting or family companions. It is something Margy and I gave enjoyed doing together. Margy's strong intuition where our dogs are concerned has saved them on more than one occasion. Added to the special care she gives those new born pups

Good afternoon everyone, we have another confirmed breeding of Jo and Zeke. These two have produced dogs who have strong hunting skills. Point,honor and a natural retrieve. They are great in the home, easily trained. We will take a break and skip a heat on her and Edi before we breed again. Week Five
On days 29 - 35, the fetuses develop their s*x organs and begin to look like actual puppies. The leg buds lengthen and develop toes. Your dog's belly will begin to look noticeably swollen as the pups take up more space. With less room for full meals, it's time to begin serving smaller meals more frequently.
