If you would have told me 1 year ago when we started this page & rescue…Somehow, there are now 7,000 of you following this crazy little rescue…. I would have told you there’s no way… not that many could care…

You’ve watched us celebrate adoptions, fight like hell for sick puppies, cry over the ones we couldn’t save, scramble to make rent, beg for dog food, and somehow keep saying “yes” when another animal needs us.

Forgotten Paws isn’t 7,000 followers.

It’s 7,000 people who decided these animals were worth paying attention to.

Every share. Every comment. Every bag of food. Every dollar. Every adoption. Every person who tells someone else about us it matters.

Calling all feline lovers!!! This is a CATASTROPHE!!! (Ok I’m being dramatic sorry)

Well… we went from ZERO cats to FIVE cats this week. 1 has been adopted, one is pending adoption and the rest are available!!!! 😂🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

Because apparently that’s how rescue works you blink and suddenly you have a whole cat department.

Our newest little residents need supplies! We could REALLY use:

🐾 Kitten food — wet & dry (meow mix & fancy feast)
🐾 Cat litter — lots of it

If anyone is looking for an easy way to help Forgotten Paws this week, sending some kitten supplies our way would be HUGE. ❤️

This mama was scheduled to die right now. 1pm October 7th 2026.

And she wasn’t the only one.

Every single one of her newborn puppies was scheduled to be euthanized with her.

The shelter simply had no room for a mama and her babies.

We couldn’t let that happen.

We worked with an incredible individual to get this little family out safely. Mama and her babies will be staying with a foster while she raises them, and in about 5–6 weeks, the whole crew will officially come to Forgotten Paws. ❤️

Some rescue decisions are hard. We have to think about space, money, fosters, medical care and the animals already depending on us.

This one wasn’t hard.

This was an easy, immediate, absolute YES.

Today, instead of a family dying together in a shelter, a mama gets to raise her babies somewhere safe.

Welcome to Forgotten Paws, sweet babies.

You and every single one of those babies get to live. 🐾❤️

One year ago yesterday, we announced that Forgotten Paws was officially a 501(c)(3).

And then we hit the ground running.

We didn’t know exactly what the next year would bring. We simply knew there were animals in Tontitown and throughout Northwest Arkansas that needed someone to show up for them.

So a few women came together, to help... an entire community showed up.

In just one year, more than 900 dogs have found homes through Forgotten Paws, with approximately 650 coming from right here in Tontitown.

We’ve taken in the sick, the injured, the abandoned, the mamas and their babies, and the ones who simply had nowhere else to go. We’ve fought parvo, faced overwhelming vet bills, cried over the ones we couldn’t save, and celebrated every second chance we could give.

But Forgotten Paws was never built by one person alone.

It was built by the director who said, “I can take one more.”
The adopter who chose rescue.
The volunteer who showed up.
The business that stepped in to help with donation boxes.
The person who donated $5 when that was what they could give.
The person who shared a post and helped the right family see the right dog.
A BNI group that gave us a membership and have supported us.

Yesterday, almost exactly one year after our announcement, I had the opportunity to stand before the Tontitown City Council last night where they now see this community needs help and they are working towards those goals.

900+ dogs adopted. Approximately 650 from Tontitown. One incredible year.

Those aren’t just our numbers.

They’re yours.

Because Forgotten Paws isn’t simply an animal rescue located in this community.

Forgotten Paws is the animal rescue this community built.

We cannot wait to see what year two brings! 🐾❤️
