FYI for new and upcoming family members.

The comb is a need. Hi tail always keep it combed from the start of the skin and pull it through (carefull it’s sharp for you. It won’t hurt him) but get as close to the base as you can. You can use it around his ears, especially behind them. They will keep them from getting mats and trust me the last thing you want is mats on the tail. You’ll end up having to shave it completely off. I absolutely hate when I have to. He looks pathetic with him not having a tail.

The leash. Another I absolutely love too. I don’t like a bungee. With this leash I felt I had total control of my dog. I like it that I could make him heel side by side with me yet give him space his space when possible.

The collar another one of my favorites. Again gives you total control of your dog. You can quickly remove your dog from a situation by grabbing the handle. This is a definitive must haves!

Cold weather. Please remember. If the concrete is too cold for you to walk on the concrete is too cold for them. Same thing when it’s hot. Asphalt is brutal!! Real brutal!!
Spend the $15-$20 to get them some booties. Order on Amazon so if they’re not the right fit you can send back and try another size.

Foods;
Remember these are new to the dogs. It may require in leaving it in the floor or crate and letting him find it or you can give it with their treat to get them to use it.They’ll get it. I try to clean out the fridge once a week
Here’s a few veggies and fruits.

Green beans.
Corn
Sweet potato. I start dicing it up on cubes and then slicing it it or spear it. They LOVE sweet potatoes.
Strawberries. You might want to slice them in two and let them try to eat it on they’re on and later give them holes. Use this same technique for introducing new veggies, etc
Apple . I always just dice the apple for bed time snack and give one piece at a time.
Coconut oil—great for their fur, digestive issues. Google it. There are a lot of things for coconut oil. Melt a cup more or less and mix
It with their dog food once or twice a week. It can also be a great “neosporin” it’s ok for moisturizing too.
Potatoes and carrots cooked together. ( like in a roast)
Mine love what’s left out of a salad. They LOVE salad!

Holidays are coming soon. Remember no grapes, onion, I stay away from a lot of chicken as they can have an allergic reaction (itchy ears) and of course no chocolate. No chicken or turkey bones.

Please don’t buy those cheap rawhides. I’ve almost lost a couple of dogs by giving them out. It gets all wet and soggy and those clumps make for one and You end up with one stuck in the back of his throat. Sometimes it’s so far back you can’t reach it and everyone panics.

Play with their feet and paws. Make it a game. Massage them when lying around. Put vibrating toys
All over their body. Again play it as a game. Let him find it on his terms. This is to help him when it comes time to bathing and grooming.

I would love to see updated pictures of you and your puppy. It helps put a face with my puppy…and a name of him If it’s not too much please add your faces, year of when you got him/her, location from where you lived when you purchased the dog. . I know it’s a lot to ask but I would really appreciate you taking a little of your time. With your permission I might want to use it on Facebook but I would not unless I asked. If you have an extra minute or 2 to write a review. The ugly and the good. I need to know where I need to improve my job. I would also like to place reviews on my website or on the page. Again with your permission only.

I’m down to 1 mating female. Every one else has been retired but still live here and always will.

Please remember I am here for you 24/7 . I don’t always hear my text alert go off at night so please call me if you need me. I might let it go to spam cause I don’t recognize the number so text me then call me . I’m a hard sleeper.

Thank you,
Staci
