❤️🐾 Rumi’s Wish List 🐾❤️

Rumi continues to settle in nicely in her foster home, and we couldn’t be happier to see her getting comfortable!

When Rumi came into rescue, she arrived with absolutely nothing to call her own. As she continues her journey toward healing, we’d love to help make her feel safe, comfortable, and loved. ❤️

We’re sharing her Amazon Wish List in hopes of sending a few extra goodies her way!

🐾 Items Rumi Could Use:
🛏️ An XL dog bed to keep her comfy as she heals
🦴 Toys and/or bones to keep her mind busy
🐕 A medium Martingale collar
🦮 A leash to go with her new collar
🥩 Honest Kitchen Beef with Grains — the food she’s currently eating and needs to continue on

Every little bit helps, and each item is another reminder to Rumi that she matters and that she is loved. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who considers sending our girl a goodie or two from her wish list! Your kindness means so much to Rumi and to all of us at Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue.

Let’s show Rumi just how loved she is! ❤️🐾

🚐❤️ RESCUE LIFE NEVER QUITS! ❤️🚐

Just when you think you have everything under control, life throws you a curveball!

Our transport van broke down with dogs inside, and frantic calls immediately went out to our rescue partners to make sure every dog got to their destination safely. Once again, our amazing rescue village stepped up! They generously provided a van so the dogs could continue their journey safely.

A HUGE thank-you to our volunteer Natalie, who made some calls and helped save the day! We are so grateful to have such incredible people in our rescue village. ❤️

But the story doesn’t end there!

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on donations and the generosity of our community to keep our rescue running. We are not subsidized by the government, so unexpected expenses like these can be a real challenge.

That’s why we are SO incredibly thankful to the local businesses that stepped up and donated their time, labor, and parts to get our van back on the road! Your generosity means more than you know. Because of you, we can continue doing what we do best: saving dogs who need us. 🐾

🔧 REPAIRS MADE TO OUR VAN:

• 4 brand-new tires
• Tire balancing
• Front-end alignment
• New rear brake pads
• New rear driver’s-side tone ring (ABS)

❤️ A SPECIAL THANK-YOU TO OUR VAN REPAIR SPONSORS:

International Spring Co
4396 Broadway Street
Depew, NY 14043

Giorgio's Limousine Service
5464 Genesee Street
Lancaster, NY 14043

Cleve-Hill Auto & Tire
495 Cornwall Avenue
Buffalo, NY 14215

Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us keep our wheels turning! 🚐🐾

Rescue takes a village, and we are continually reminded how lucky we are to be surrounded by people who care. From the rescue partners who helped provide transportation that day to the sponsors who repaired our van—and to everyone who performs acts of kindness—you all make a difference. Please support these awesome businesses as they have shown that they support the Western New York community.

We couldn’t do this without you! ❤️

We would absolutely love to see pictures of your sweet pugs. Happy International Pug Day!

Our Sunday spotlight is on Veyda🩷. She is a 6-year-old Mini Bernedoodle and a retired puppy mill mama who is now ready to discover what life is really supposed to be like.

Veyda was recently adopted out but returned shortly after because of no fault of her own. Her home was in the city and she didn't like it. The loud noises scared her and all she wanted was a quiet place with a large fenced-in yard so she could run around.

Veyda would do best in a home with at least one confident, friendly canine companion who can help show her the ropes and teach her what being a carefree dog is all about. She would also do well with older, respectful children.

Veyda Is still learning to trust people, so she will need a patient family that can give her the time she needs to fully blossom into the perfect dog we know she will become.

If you feel you can give Veyda the perfect home, fill out an application and somebody will be in touch to set up a meet and greet!

🐾 Rumi’s Update — 9 Days in Rescue! ❤️

Rumi has been in rescue for 9 days now, and she’s slowly learning what the good life is all about! 🥰

When it comes to her weight gain, slow and steady is the way to go. Too much food, too quickly, can lead to refeeding syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition. We have all the time in the world to help her heal properly, following our veterinarian’s guidance every step of the way. ❤️

Rumi is beginning to work on her potty training and learning to relax a little more each day. She still cowers at times, but we’re seeing less of that behavior than before, and we consider that a win! Every little step forward matters. 🐾

She has also attached herself to her amazing foster mom, who is showing her what love, patience, and security feel like. Rumi is slowly learning that humans and life really aren’t so scary after all. We know she has a long road ahead, but she’s finally on the right path, surrounded by people who care about her.

We’ll continue to keep Rumi’s village updated as she makes progress. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, supported her, and cheered her on. She has so many people rooting for her! ❤️

Regarding Rumi’s previous owner: The appropriate authorities have been notified, and the evidence available to us has been provided to them. We cannot comment further on that part of Rumi’s story. We feel it is best to allow the proper channels to handle the matter.

For now, our focus is on Rumi, her healing, and helping her discover the happy, healthy life she deserves. ❤️🐾

Donations are still being accepted via PayPal at [email protected] as well as the venmo posted. Thank you all for your concern and support of this sweet girl!
