Part of being a responsible rescue is taking your dog back when needed . Our dogs are rarely returned however we always are there for them for their entire natural life .
Tara has been returned to us after her owner found herself in the hospital with a series of medical issues . Tara was originally adopted about 4 months ago . Welcome back Tara we got you sweet girl .

Please think about what happens when a dog is returned here . They take priority. However it does stop us from saving the life of another due to space issues .

Bring Tara home! Tara is an adult large female Akita in Toms River, NJ waiting for adoption.

Marshmallow update :
♥️Zac’s Mission ♥️focus is on helping Akitas that come from the Commercial Pet / Breeding Industry . Akitas used for one purpose and one purse only that’s to produce puppies for profit .
Here is Miss Marshmallow. No longer of any use to the farmer , she now resides with us here at BEAR .
I brought her in to our vet the other day as she never had any shots or has never had a vet appointment. Well Marshmallow did not even have a name until she left the farm in Pa.
Marshmallow was such a good girl at our vets office . Kind and gentle . She allowed all handling and was good for her blood draw . Upon exam a lump was found that had started to open . I am not surprised as many breeding moms that come from these farms have mammary tumors which does require removal and biopsy. So that’s what Marshmallow will have done along with her spay , chip , 4 DX and Pexy 9/1/26 .

If you’re looking for a sweet , laid back soft-tee this is your girl .
She is so quiet and well mannered . Please keep in mind she has lived in a barn setting her entire life . New things need to be introduced slowly and positively. But over all she still has her confidence intact .
