Monroe Veterinary Services Dr. Dyer and Dr. Thompson provide a full range of large and small animal services to KY and TN. We also are available for ambulatory care on the farm.

At Monroe Veterinary Services we pride ourselves in quality and efficient care. We strive to develop personal relationships with clients and patients alike. Serving South Central Kentucky for 47 years, we are proud to play an active role in the community that we know and love. Dr. Wesley Dyer is a native to Monroe County, having grown up in Bugtussle, KY. He obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Me

dicine from Tuskegee University in 2014. In the summer of 2021 he purchased Tri-County Veterinary Services, changing its name but preserving its high level of customer and patient care. Small animals are seen at our clinic so that we may allow the best of care for them. At our clinic we are able to perform diagnostics and provide on the spot treatment if needed. We encourage clients to visit our facility with their companions so that they may become acquainted with our clinic and our staff. In this way, they can develop a bond and feel comfortable should they ever need to come in for treatment or hospitalization. We have haul-in facilities that allow for us to process herds or treat sick animals on-site. Our parking lot is designed to provide room and make it easier for clients to come and go. Our vet trucks are fully equipped to handle routine or emergency care.

Don’t let your guard down just yet! Fleas and ticks are still **very prevalent** and can cause much more than an itchy pet. These pesky parasites can lead to skin irritation, hair loss, infections, discomfort, and even transmit diseases that can affect your pet’s overall health.

🩺 **Prevention is much easier than treating the problems parasites can cause!**

Leptospirosis is more than just a concern for outdoor or country dogs. Wildlife such as rodents, raccoons, and squirrels can carry the bacteria into yards, parks, puddles, mud, streams, and other wet areas.

Symptoms may include vomiting, fever, weakness, loss of appetite, increased thirst or urination, and yellowing of the eyes or gums. Leptospirosis can affect the kidneys and liver and may also spread from infected animals to people.

Avoid allowing pets to drink from puddles or standing water, and contact your veterinarian promptly if your pet becomes ill after possible exposure. Ask your veterinarian whether the leptospirosis vaccine is recommended for your pet. 🌧️🐾
