Pink Xocoyul Corn seeds are another AMAZING New Arrival for 2026!
Pink Xocoyul corn is a unique heirloom variety from the mountainous regions of Oaxaca, Mexico.
While it is traditionally used for atole dulce, a warm, sweet masa beverage, Xocoyul lends itself seamlessly to a variety of masa applications, such as quesadillas with fresh quesillo or festive pink tamales.

Did you know there are health benefits to chai?
And I'm not talking about the milk powder and sugar-laden coffee-stand varieties. I'm talking about the REAL deal! The real deal includes spices like cardamom and clove simmering in a pot until your home smells like a gingerbread bakery!
Besides being delicious, chai is also a multi-tasker. The ginger helps to increase circulation and aid in digestion (great for nausea) as well as being detoxifying. Cloves can help relieve stomach or tooth pain and strengthen the immune system, killing intestinal parasites. Cardamom helps relieve gas and and can be soothing for bronchial problems. Cinnamon also aids digestion when stagnant and can be great for indigestion and cramping (nursing mothers be careful of cinnamon because it can be a culprit of acid reflux in babies). It can also help fight fungal, bacterial, and parasitic infections.

Making Goldenrod Tea

You can make tea from fresh or dried goldenrod. About 2 tablespoons of fresh flowers or about 1 tablespoon of dried flowers will make a cup of tea. Steep your tea for 10-15 minutes.
Strain and enjoy.

There was a lot of interest and questions about the clay stove featured in the recent story we published on Nyathuongwenopermaculture farm in Kenya.
Joseph Otieno has provided guidance that explains how to make this stove.

How to make traditional clay stove using local materials

Materials You Need:

*Clay Soil
*Straw Grass
*Water

First, collect all the materials: clay soil, straw grass, and water. Then, cut the straw grass into small pieces. Place the cut straw grass on top of the clay soil. Add a small amount of water to the mixture.

Mix everything together—clay soil, straw grass, and water—until well combined. After mixing, cover the mixture with a polythene sheet. Step or jump on top of the plastic cover to press and mix the materials even more.

Leave the covered mixture to rest for three days. This helps it become stronger and better for making the stove. After three days, open the cover and check the clay. Add a little more water if it feels too dry.

Now, the clay is ready to be used. Start shaping your clay stove by hand. Once the stove is fully built, cover it again and let it dry for 14 days.

After 14 days of drying, your clay stove is ready to use. The stove works well and uses only a small amount of firewood, making it efficient and environmentally friendly. Enjoy cooking!
