One of the saddest things to see that Helene destroyed in this area were the Rainbow Bridge and Flowering Bridge.
The Flowering Bridge was a garden built around a historic bridge containing about 30 themed gardens, and the Rainbow Bridge was a pet memorial that lived within those gardens where hundreds of people placed collars to honor their fur babies that have crossed the bridge.
Helene destroyed the Flowering Bridge so severely that it had to be completely demolished. And the Rainbow Bridge and all the collars were swept away.
A group of volunteers have worked tirelessly to rebuild the Flowering Bridge gardens which will include a new Rainbow Bridge in a different form. In their clean up they have been able to recover 470 of the collars that were lost and they have preserved them to be placed on the new bridge.
The area where that new bridge will go is ready and the bridge will be placed later next month -

This is an image of the Rainbow Bridge before it was washed away.
This is a link where you can read more about the bridge and also see and read about each of the 470 collars that were recovered. (These are broken down into four sections so you have to click on each one for the list) -

We are so thankful for the volunteers that have worked so hard to rebuild both of these beautiful areas. 💜🐾💜
