When a Community Comes Together: Bella's Story

When Bella arrived at Community Pet Care Clinic , she was very sick and diagnosed with pyometra, a serious uterine infection that required surgery. Her family, facing significant financial hardship, had managed to raise $200 toward the cost of her care.

CPCC stepped up by sharing Bella’s story on social media, bringing in donations and applying for the Open Door Emergency Veterinary Fund (available to clinics listed on Pethelpfinder.org from Open Door Veterinary Collective ).

We’re grateful to Miranda Lambert's MuttNation that helped make care more accessible for Bella, to CPCC for providing veterinary care and going the extra mile to share her story, and to everyone who donated to help her family during a difficult time.

Bella’s story is a reminder that when veterinary teams, generous donors, and financial assistance programs work together, they can make a real difference for pets and the families who love them. 🐾

Buckeye and Scarlett have been lovingly fostered by one of our very own veterinary staff members. This means they are well-socialized and handled daily getting lots of love and cuddles. Currently fostered through Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet, they are up to date on vaccines, fixed and microchipped.

We are endlessly grateful to report that Bella's surgery was a success and she is continuing her recovery at home! To everyone who donated and shared her story - you helped save sweet Bella's life. We have the best community!

Three year old Bella could use some help. She started feeling poorly four days ago and her family came to us. She was diagnosed with pyometra, an infection of the uterus that is deadly without surgical intervention.

Even though she doesn't feel good, sweet Bella is still wagging her tail.

Finances are tight for Bella's family. $500 has been raised for her care but we still need another $500 to cover the rest of the surgery and follow up care. If you are able to help, Bella and her family would be very appreciative - she is having her surgery today.

🐾 When Pug Met Sophie 🐾

Pug the pug comes to the clinic monthly for Librela, a targeted injection which provides long-term pain control for osteoarthritis. Last week, CPCC assistant Maddie’s pug, Sophie, said “I’ll have what he’s having!”

The meeting of the pugs was one for the books and both pups left with happy tails and relaxed joints.

As a veterinary team, we get to know some truly special patients. Right now, Chloe and her mom could use your help. The cost of diagnostics to determine why Chloe isn't feeling well is out of reach for our client. Sweet Chloe is beloved to her family and deserves the best chance at a healthy life.
