Purpz Mini Dino's and Spoods Passionate hobbyist keeper and breeder of rare reptiles & jumping spiders. I love taking care of unique reptiles and jumping spiders as a hobby.

My main focus is on making sure these creatures are well-cared for and happy by using advanced care techniques. I'm especially proud of keeping and breeding rare species like the Leiolepis Guttata, which are not easy to come by. This experience has fueled my passion to breed and share these hard-to-find reptiles within the reptile community. Despite working out of a smaller reptile room at home, I make sure to create the best possible environment for my animals. Quality is always a top priority for me. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

This little squeaky potato is officially in trouble. 🥺🐸

The desert rain frog (Breviceps macrops) has recently been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List due to continued habitat loss and pressure from mining and development in the small coastal areas of Namibia and South Africa where they naturally occur.

Because they have such a limited native range, losing even part of that habitat can have a huge impact on the species.

I would personally LOVE to see more responsible work being done with these guys in captivity someday.. especially conservation-focused captive breeding that could help create sustainable populations without putting additional pressure on wild animals.

But even more than that, I would love to see stronger conservation efforts for animals like this before they reach the point where captive populations become one of the only things keeping a species around.

There are so many incredible animals quietly losing habitat every year, and by the time most people hear about them, their numbers are already declining.

Protect the habitat. Support responsible conservation. Support ethical captive breeding when it can actually benefit the species.

And please save the angry squeaky potatoes. 😭🐸💜

Meanwhile this man lives pampered under a heat lamp and gets hand delivered bugs. 😂🐉

I always call jumping spiders the gateway spider… but if we’re being honest, mantises got to me first. 😂
I kept mantises before jumpers, so apparently they were my gateway into the bug world and jumpers just came along and made the addiction worse. 💜
