There’s a reason we say trust the process. 🐾✂️

This is the pre-shave—an early stage of some grooming appointments where we take down excess coat and begin creating the length for the eventual haircut.

It may look a little unfinished right now, and that’s because it is! ❤️

There’s still a bath, thorough dry, coat preparation, shaping, blending, and detail work ahead before this pup gets the polished finish you see in those after photos. ✨

The transformation doesn’t happen in one step. It’s the entire process that creates the finished groom.

From nose to tail, a great groom is a process. 🐾✂️

What you’re seeing here is the pre-shave—one of the first steps in certain grooming appointments.

A pre-shave removes excess coat and establishes the general length before the bath, dry, and detailed finishing work begins. At this stage, we’re not looking for a perfectly polished haircut yet. The final shaping, blending, and detail work come later.

Think of it as laying the foundation for the finished groom. ✨

From nose to tail, every step has a purpose for a polished finished groom ❤️

What does “gentle grooming” actually look like? ❤️

Sometimes, it looks like this.

This little Maltese mix needs the comfort and security of their bed during grooming. Rather than expecting every pet to adapt to the exact same process, we look for safe ways to adapt the process to them.

We pay attention to body language, comfort, mobility, and what each individual pet is telling us throughout the appointment.

A beautiful haircut matters—but earning a pet’s trust and keeping them comfortable matters more. 🐾

Different dog. Different needs. Different approach. Same level of care.

When the whole furry family comes to Toledo Pet Grooming. 🐾🐾🐾❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"We have always been very satisfied with Toledo Pet Grooming. We take all 3 of our fur babies!"

Having one pet parent trust us is special. Having them bring all three of their fur babies to us is an incredible compliment!

We take the time to get to know each pet and provide individualized, gentle care, because even pets from the same family can have completely different grooming needs and personalities.

Thank you for making us your grooming home! ❤️✂️

Gentle grooming means paying attention. 🐾❤️

This sweet Maltese mix is most comfortable staying in their own little bed during portions of the grooming process—so that’s exactly where we work with them.

Not every dog is going to feel comfortable standing on a grooming table for an entire appointment, and we don’t believe they should have to fit into a one-size-fits-all routine.

Sometimes gentle grooming means slowing down. Sometimes it means changing techniques, taking breaks, or finding a position where a dog feels more secure. And sometimes it means bringing the grooming tools to them. 🥹

The goal is still a clean, comfortable, well-cared-for pet—but how we get there can look different for every dog.

At Toledo Pet Grooming, we groom the dog in front of us. ❤️

“They never fail.” ❤️ That’s the kind of consistency we strive for.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I love them! They’re very professional and clean. My yorkie comes home looking good as new and very adorable. I go here for his haircuts every 9 weeks, they never fail."

Regular grooming appointments are especially helpful for Yorkies and other continuously growing coats. Staying on a consistent schedule helps keep the coat manageable, prevents excessive overgrowth and tangling, and keeps your pup looking fresh between visits.

Thank you for trusting us every nine weeks with your adorable Yorkie! 🐶❤️

A puppy’s first grooming appointment is about so much more than the haircut—it’s about introducing them to a whole new experience in a gentle, positive way. ❤️

That includes plenty of calm, gentle touch, like a little head massage, while we help your puppy become comfortable with having their face, ears, paws, and body handled.

They’re also being introduced to new sounds, new tools, the grooming table, bathing, drying, brushing, and all the other things that will eventually become a normal part of their routine.

We don’t expect puppies to know how to be groomed on day one. We teach them.

A little patience now can help build confidence for a lifetime of grooming ahead. ✂️🐶✨
