Meet Miss Nylah! This sweet girl has had a sitter spending the entire day with her today, giving her plenty of cuddles, walks, companionship, and personalized one-on-one attention—all from the comfort of her own home.

In addition to our traditional pet visits and overnights, we offer six-hour sits, full-day sits, and complete 24-hour care. These services are wonderful for puppies, senior pets, pets with separation anxiety or medical needs, and anyone who simply feels happiest with a person nearby.

Concierge care means we build the service around your pet’s needs and normal routine. Meals, walks, medications, playtime, cuddles, household care, and overnight companionship can all be personalized so you can travel without worrying about what is happening at home.

☀️ High-Heat Safety Update ☀️

With temperatures expected to reach 95° or higher over the next couple of days, we will be adjusting our in-home visits to keep every pet safe and comfortable.

Our team will:

- Shorten walks and outdoor time as needed
- Stick to shaded areas and shaded walking routes whenever possible
- Offer water more frequently during visits and walks
- Refresh water bowls and ensure pets have plenty of fresh water available
-Use quick potty breaks during the hottest parts of the day
-Complete the remaining visit time indoors with cuddles, play, and enrichment
- Check indoor temperatures and immediately notify our office if a home is unusually warm or the air conditioning does not appear to be working properly
- Closely monitor pets for excessive panting, heavy drooling, weakness, vomiting, confusion, bright-red gums, or difficulty breathing

We will be especially cautious with senior pets, puppies, flat-faced breeds, overweight pets, thick-coated breeds, and pets with medical conditions.

Your pet’s scheduled visit time will still be completed, but safety will always come before the length of a walk. If our team believes it is too hot for a full walk, we will bring your pet inside and finish the visit with safe indoor attention.

Fostering truly saves lives. It creates much-needed space in the shelter while giving dogs and cats the opportunity to decompress, experience life outside of a kennel, and let their personalities shine.

Today might officially be National Dog Day, but around Winston-Salem Dog Care, we’re lucky enough to celebrate dogs every single day! ❤️🐶

🐾 HELP US SHOW UP FOR THE DOGS AND CATS WHO NEED US MOST! 🐾

We’re incredibly proud to be raising money for AARF (Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation of Winston-Salem) — an organization that means a whole lot to us personally. ❤️

AARF has been there time and time again for dogs and cats in our community who suddenly find themselves without a safe place to go. They don’t just find animals homes — they work hard to find the right homes and support those families as they transition into life together.

And this one is especially personal for our family because our own Mason is an AARF dog. 🥹🐶❤️

We know firsthand what can happen when a rescue organization, foster families, volunteers, adopters and a community all come together for one animal. Mason got his chance, and there are so many more dogs and cats waiting for theirs.

Over the years, AARF has also stepped up when we’ve encountered animals in uncertain situations through our work at Winston-Salem Dog Care. Knowing we can call an organization that genuinely cares about what happens after that animal is rescued means more than we can say.

❤️ And right now, AARF is only $2,000 AWAY from reaching their fundraising goal! ❤️

That is SO close — and we would absolutely love to see our WSDC community help push them across that finish line.

Whether it’s $5, $10, $25 or more, every donation matters. Those dollars become food, veterinary care, supplies, foster support and ultimately another chance for a dog or cat who needs one.
