Growth in riding doesn’t always show up on the ribbon board first. Sometimes it shows up in the quiet moments of learning to trust yourself, pushing through nerves, staying focused under pressure, and believing you belong there.

This young rider has been doing exactly that. Her mental growth in and out of the ring is translating into stronger rides, more confidence, and better overall performance every time she gets in the saddle.

The biggest breakthroughs often happen when a rider learns to manage the space between their ears. Confidence, resilience, and determination are just as important as talent. Proud of the progress, proud of the mindset, and excited for what’s ahead.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🤍

In a world that moves fast and asks for more, there’s something grounding about the quiet connection between horse and rider. No pressure. No expectations. Just presence.

Moments like this remind us that progress isn’t always measured in ribbons or results it’s found in trust, patience, and showing up, even on the hard days.

Horses have a way of listening without judgment, teaching without words, and reminding us to breathe, reset, and try again.

Take care of your mind the same way you care for your ride with consistency, compassion, and grace.

Seapowet Stables has always been more than just a barn it’s a family.

Family-run and at the heart of everything we do, our program is built on trust, shaped by dedication, and grounded in long-term commitment. Every ride, every lesson, and every milestone reflects the relationships behind it.

We believe in growing together horse, rider, and team over time, not overnight. From first lessons to big wins, it’s about showing up for each other, putting in the work, and building something that lasts.

That’s the foundation and the heart of Seapowet Stables.

There’s something inspiring about the riders who don’t just dream about having their own horse they work for it.

The ones who spend years in the barn, showing up early, staying late, catching every opportunity to ride, help, and learn. The ones who carefully make their case at home (complete with a PowerPoint presentation) proving through commitment, responsibility, and consistency that this isn’t just a phase it’s a passion.

Convincing your parents to buy your first horse isn’t about one big ask it’s about all the small moments leading up to it. The dedication. The sacrifices. The maturity that grows quietly over time.

And when it finally happens, it’s more than just getting a horse. It’s stepping into a whole new level of ownership, accountability, and partnership.

That first horse teaches you things no lesson ever could, how to advocate, how to problem-solve, how to show up even on the hard days. It builds confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a horseman.

But behind every one of those riders is a community, trainers, barn friends, mentors, and families who helped shape the journey. Who answered questions, gave encouragement, and reminded them what they were working toward.

Because no one gets there alone.

And that’s what makes that first horse so meaningful. It’s not just the start of a new chapter, it’s the result of a village that believed in you along the way.

Molly keep reaching for the stars! We are all watching, cheering and admiring your journey.

We kicked off our spring show season with a great start from Emma Wallace and Molly McCarthy!

Molly rode beautifully in her first USEF-rated show, earning two 3rd-place ribbons in a competitive Children’s Eq division of 15 riders. She also secured her spot for MHC Finals, an exciting milestone.

Emma continues to build a strong partnership with her new horse, putting together smooth, confident rounds at just their second show together. She also qualified for MHC and added valuable points toward RIHA and MHJ.

Proud of both riders for their hard work and progress. This is just the beginning of a great season ahead!
