🍬 Peppermint is particular... and honestly, who can blame a girl who knows exactly what she likes?

Peppermint is a 4-year-old lady with some very specific requirements for her future home. Other cats? No, thank you. Dogs? She’ll pass. Kids? Not really her thing.

What IS her thing? Being the center of attention. ❤️

Peppermint is litter box trained, a total lap cat and a professional biscuit maker. From what we know about her, she truly thrives in a home where she can soak up all the love without having to share her space or her people with other pets.

Unfortunately, shelter life is simply not Peppermint’s cup of tea. With other animals nearby, unfamiliar faces coming and going and all the activity that comes with shelter life, she is struggling to feel comfortable here.

We know there is someone out there whose idea of the perfect companion is an independent, particular little lady who wants a quiet home, a warm lap and someone all to herself.

Peppermint is patiently waiting for her purr-fect match. Could it be you?

Our tails are wagging with extra gratitude for this one! ❤️🐾

A huge thank you to Dr. Heather Les, former SPCA of Brevard veterinarian, for becoming a “Good Pup” Level Sponsor of Bark in the Park 2026 !

Dr. Les, we miss you tremendously and are so grateful for your continued dedication to the SPCA of Brevard and our mission. It means so much to know that even though you’re no longer with us every day, you’re still cheering on our animals and supporting the work we do.

❤️ SEEING ASHLEY THROUGH HER FOSTER MOM’S EYES ❤️

Sometimes the best way to really know a shelter dog is to see who they become in a home.

Ashley has been in foster for about two months, and her foster mom, Makenna, has gotten to know the goofy, playful, water-loving girl behind the kennel. Pictures and message provided by Makenna:

“Ashley has been in foster with me for about two months now, and in that time, she has really settled into what it means to live life in a home.

At just 1½ years old, Ashley still has that goofy, happy puppy energy that makes you smile even when you’re having a bad day. She loves playing with my dogs, spending time with the kids, finding her next adventure and, especially, swimming! 💦

She’s silly and playful, but she’s also learning how wonderful the simple things can be—a soft place to sleep, playing in the yard and knowing someone is there for her at the end of the day.

She sleeps peacefully in her crate through the night, although she’ll still try to convince you she absolutely does NOT need to go in there at bedtime. 😂

After two months with Ashley, I’ve gotten to see the dog behind the kennel. I’ve seen how happy she is when she feels safe, how much she loves other dogs and kids, and just how much personality this girl has to give.

She has learned how to live in a home. Now she just needs a home of her own.

I just hope her person finds her soon. Because Ashley is ready. 🐾”

🐾 Blush & Halo are learning what life SHOULD be like for our furry friends: lots of love, plenty of treats, understanding, patience and a soft place to land. ❤️

These two girls haven't had the easiest start to life. Blush and Halo were pulled from a federal facility by one of our incredible care partners, and when they needed a safe place to stay, some extra TLC and a team willing to help them prepare for their next chapter, the SPCA of Brevard answered the call.

Thanks to the amazing work of our care partners and SPCA dog staff, Blush and Halo are learning something very important: humans aren't all bad. In fact, some of them are pretty awesome. ❤️

And now, they're ready for homes of their own!

🐶 Blush is 3 years old, about 45 pounds and does well with most dogs.

🐶 Halo is 4 years old, about 60 pounds and prefers a quiet household.

Both girls are shy when meeting new people and do best with a slow, patient approach. We're looking for dog-savvy adopters who understand that sometimes the very best friendships take a little extra time to build. Both will also require a strong, secure fence in their new homes.

Blush and Halo do NOT need to be adopted together... but they absolutely could be! ❤️

These girls remind us why rescue matters. When you rescue a dog, you have the opportunity to completely change the trajectory of a life.

We may never know every detail of Blush and Halo's first few years, but we do know what we want the next chapter to look like: treats, snuggles, safety, patience and so much love.

Now we just need the right people to help us write it. 🐾❤️

🐾 TWO TABBIES. DOUBLE THE LOVE. 🐾

Meet Larry & Luca, a bonded pair of 3-year-old tabby boys who come as a perfectly matched set! ❤️❤️ And thanks to a generous sponsor, their adoption fee is fully sponsored!

Both boys weigh around 14 pounds, but their personalities couldn’t be more different.

🎤 Luca is the outgoing one. He’s extremely social, a total chatterbox and gets along wonderfully with the other cats in our free-roam cat rooms. He’s more than happy to work the room and steal the show.

🐱 Larry is his shy sidekick. He’s perfectly content hanging back, taking it all in and letting his best buddy handle the introductions.

Together, they’re built-in besties who balance each other perfectly. Both boys are litter box trained and ready to take their show on the road!

Larry & Luca are looking for a home together where they can settle in, snuggle up and continue doing what they do best: being each other’s best friend. ❤️
