💚 World Mental Health Day 💚

Today is a reminder that mental health matters — all of it, every day, for everyone.

Animal care is a beautiful field, but it can also be an incredibly emotional one. We celebrate new beginnings, comfort scared pets, support families through difficult decisions, celebrate recoveries, and sometimes say goodbye to beloved companions. We give so much of ourselves to the animals and people in our care, and sometimes we forget that we need care, too.

Compassion fatigue. Burnout. Grief. Stress. Anxiety. Feeling overwhelmed. Carrying home the things we saw or heard that day. Feeling like we have to stay strong because someone — or something — is counting on us.

Those struggles are real. And they don't make you weak, ungrateful, or bad at what you do. They make you human. ❤️

Whether you're a veterinarian, veterinary technician, kennel attendant, groomer, receptionist, trainer, pet parent, first responder, caregiver, or simply someone doing their best to make it through the day — your mental health deserves the same compassion you give to others.

Take the break. Ask for help. Set the boundary. Talk to someone. Rest without feeling guilty. Check on your coworkers. Check on your friends. And remember that taking care of yourself isn't selfish — it's part of taking care of the things and people you love.

You don't have to be at your breaking point to deserve support.
You don't have to have a reason to take care of your mental health.
And you don't have to carry everything alone. 🫶

Today, and every day, let's make space for the people behind the care.

🐾🛡️ October is National Animal Safety & Protection Month! 🛡️🐾

Our pets rely on us to be their voice, their advocate, and their first line of protection. ❤️

This month, let’s make safety a priority by:
🐶 Keeping pets safely secured with collars, tags & microchips
🐱 Keeping toxic foods, medications & household hazards out of reach
🚗 Practicing safe travel and never leaving pets unattended in vehicles
🩺 Keeping up with wellness exams, vaccines & preventative care
🏡 Providing a safe, enriching environment where pets can thrive
👀 And always paying attention when something about their behavior or health just seems off

Protecting our pets isn't just about keeping them safe from danger—it's about giving them the healthiest, happiest lives possible. 🐾💙

Because they depend on us for their safety, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

🐱👅 THINKER THURSDAY: The Cat Tongue Edition! 👅🐱

Ever wonder why your cat’s tongue feels like sandpaper? 😸

Those tiny, backward-facing spikes are called papillae, and they’re made of keratin—the same tough material found in our fingernails! They help cats groom, remove loose fur and debris, and even pull meat from bones when eating.

And here’s a sweet little bonus fact… 🍬

🐾 Cats can’t taste sweetness! Their sweet taste receptors don’t work like ours do, which means your kitty has absolutely no idea what they’re missing. 😂

Now you know! 😻

🐾💙 Happy Customer Service Week! 💙🐾

This week, we’re giving a HUGE shoutout to some of our absolute FAVORITES — the amazing humans behind the front desks! 🥰📞

The ones answering the phones, scheduling appointments, checking guests in and out, answering a million questions, juggling a million things at once, calming worried pet parents, keeping everyone on track… and somehow still managing to smile through it all! 😂🐶🐱

You are often the first voice they hear and the last face they see, and you make such a difference in every pet family’s experience. Your kindness, patience, organization, and ability to somehow make the chaos look easy do NOT go unnoticed. 💙

So here's to our front desk rockstars — thank you for keeping the tails wagging, the phones ringing, the schedules moving, and all of us just a little more sane! 😂🐾

We appreciate you more than you know! 💙
