We are getting ready for a few kittens to move from their foster homes to the Sanctuary later this month.

We need space for them at the Sanctuary when they are ready.

🌾🐾 They count on us. We count on YOU. 🐾🌾

Kitten season is officially here, and while tiny paws bring so much joy, they also bring BIG needs. From bottle babies needing round-the-clock care to ongoing medical costs, food, hay, shelter, and daily care for all of our sanctuary animals — every donation truly matters.

This year alone, we recently spent $3,300 cutting, tying, and baling 7 acres of hay (600 bales!) to help feed the animals who call OFS home. Add kitten formula, vet care, medications, housing needs, and everyday expenses — and it all adds up quickly.

No donation is too small. Whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this post, you’re helping us continue rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong care. ❤️

Looking for a handsome ginger boy in your life?
We happen to have 2 stunning long haired gentlemen looking for their forever homes.

Damon was trapped last year at one of our volunteer’s houses as a kitten with his mother, Elena, and brother, Stephan. Stephan was quickly adopted but Damon has remained waiting for his people. He is a bit of a shy boy, but will eventually warm up to his people for cuddles and play time.
Damon is a rich orangish red long haired neutered male.

Scarecrow was trapped this winter at a different volunteer’s house right after a nasty cold spell. He was terrified at first and had a very upset tummy. Over the next few weeks his tummy began to feel better and Scarecrow decided that he liked people. He startles easily, but when relaxed will beg for your attention and ask you to pet his feather soft fur. His little ear tufts make this blondish orange guy the cutest.

Both of these boys are about a year old and looking for their furever homes.

Everyone enjoys a nice fresh summer Watermelon

Meet our little Watermelon.
We estimate that she was born around the first of the year.
She is about 5 months old.

Watermelon was given to one of our volunteers while working a community dog vaccine clinic in Springfield. Watermelon had a small bite wound on the inside of her legs.
After a round of antibiotics she was fully healed.
Watermelon was then spayed, combo tested, microchipped and vaccinated.

Watermelon is very playful and social. She loves her wild runaround play time. She is also very content being held and sleeping in your arms.
She is very outgoing, lovable and curious about everything.

Watermelon gets along great with other cats and dogs. She is also wonderfully patient with children.
