Tionesta Borough Hydrant Flushing

The Tionesta Borough Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 between the hours of 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM on October 8, 2026. Some residents may experience dirty water and low or no water pressure. Those who experience dirty water should let their cold-water taps run until the water clears. Cynthia S. Tionesta Borough Mayor, Keyon Custer has announced Halloween hours in the Borough for October 31 will be from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Trick or Treaters are reminded to go only to houses with lights on at a porch or entryway. Also, please be safe and wear reflective tape on costumes & have fun!

Hi Borough Residents & Businesses. Garbage pickup will be on Wednesday this coming week because of Labor Day on Monday. We're one day behind our regular pickup day of Tuesday. Have a great Labor Day weekend!

The Borough participated in the Commonwealth’s Strategic Management Plan this year. Normally, the municipality has to pay 50% of the cost of the consultants to conduct the study, but the Commonwealth waived that requirement for the Borough. The University of Pittsburgh, School of Public and International Affairs dug into our finances, practices and procedures to be able to provide recommendations for the borough to improve its finances and practices. The report from the University of Pittsburgh was recently issued and is available on the borough’s website at:

Apparently we've been tellling everyone the wrong weeks for curbside recycling pickup. The weeks in "red" are our weeks. The next pickup is the 25th - next Tuesday. My apologies for providing the wrong info for the last month! After that, it is every other week.
