💪🐾 Happy National Vet Tech Week! 💗🩺

It's National Veterinary Technician Week and we’re celebrating the incredible team who keep the animals at AHS Tinton Falls cared for, healthy, and loved!

You’ll find these amazing ladies all throughout the shelter, counseling adopters, assisting in surgeries, cleaning, medicating, and doing just about EVERYTHING in between. They’re a powerhouse team that gives their all to the animals in our care, then goes above and beyond by opening their own homes to foster the animals who need it most. ❤️

Michelle, Janet, Mariah, and Elena (also pictured our fearless leader Dr. B!) are compassionate, hardworking, and absolutely unstoppable. We couldn't do what we do without them! 👏💪 To our amazing vet tech team, thank you for everything you do, this week and every single day! We are forever grateful you're part of AHS‼️

🐾 Meet Bianca the Beagle: Ready for her next chapter! 🐶💕

Bianca is 4 years old, 30 pounds, and full of classic Beagle curiosity. After spending some time in a home, we’ve learned a lot more about this smart, scent-loving girl, and we want to find her the RIGHT fit! ❤️

Bianca has some separation anxiety, so she’d do best with someone who’s home often or possibly another dog to keep her company. She’d also love regular access to outdoor space and plenty of enrichment to keep that clever hound mind busy! 🐾👃Bianca has so much to offer the right family. She just needs someone who understands her needs and can help her feel safe, settled, and happy.

At just 2 years old and 13 pounds, Babybel has already been through more than she deserves. Found tied to a tree outside our shelter, this tiny girl needs some TLC, a few extra meals, and a family to call her own. She is safe with us, but we would much rather see her in a forever home. 💜 Meet Babybel today!

RESCUES, FOSTERS, ADOPTERS 💔 Chucky needs a chance, and he needs it now.

This 5-year-old, 23-pound boy came to us as a stray, and we suspect he's been through more than any dog should have to experience. His fear and anxiety run deep, and meeting new people is hard for him. But some of us were strangers to Chucky once, too, and he's learned to trust us with time.

Chucky needs an experienced adopter, foster, or rescue who understands fearful dogs and can give him the space, patience, and decompression time he deserves. He may not trust you right away, but he's worth giving a chance. ❤️

Can you help Chucky feel safe again? Please reach out to AHS Tinton Falls if you can help, and share his story so it reaches someone who can. 🐾

Backyard breeding is not always what you think.

Often times we think of dogs in cages being bred over and over, but sometimes backyard breeding is happening right in your neighborhood. Anybody breeding their dogs on their own is a backyard breeder. They are inexperienced, and do not have the proper resources or know how to find suitable adopters.

Think about the shelters that are full of puppies and homeless mama dogs, before using one of these excuses to breed your dog. Spay & neuter your pets!
