Polypterus retropinnis - Zaire green bichir
Cute sized and wild from congo are in !
These are thinner profiled then other bichirs with them having the profile of a rope fish. Just really long and thin. Worm / eel like. As you can guess by the name they are known to Green up and you occasionally see a bichir with the same color as the hulk. Often mislabeled I have seen retropinnis come in as Mokelembembe or polli so make sure to look at the fish if ever shopping for these.

Protopterus albino from congo 🇨🇩 likely P. dolloi
Natural albinos are one in a million for the most part. I mean ask yourself. How many albino people do you know? With lungfish and the way they live life albinos have managed to set a foothold in west africa and we manage to get some every year. I am guessing that hanging out in the mud it must shield them from predation which is one of the things that makes natural albinos so rare. A glowing orange fish with red eyes is easy prey when it cant hide. These make excellent display animals as the creature looks so prehistoric and grows to considerable size. I would not tickle this fishes chin as the jaws are incredibly powerful. We have some golden fish with bright red eyes ready to go !

Red moon cap tetras feasting. Bonus little Teleogramma if you look around as well. I confess while these are definitely bathyaethiops I am not 100% sure the id. Its possible they are greeni or maybe caudomaculatus. Seems to be a lot of conflicting info online. Either way the fish does not care what its called and care for both is similar. We received a healthy group from our good friend in Congo and they are smashing. So many tetras in the world do not limit yourself to the bread and butter.

Hemiancistrus votouro
At least I think. This fish has been sold under so many names and its tough to tell exactly which but I am going to double down on this one and wait for someone smarter then me to tell me I am wrong.
Undemanding and pellet pounders. I imagine based on collection area that it does not require heat and will do fine in a room temperature environment.
