Tuesday Tips 📝 - Su***de Prevention Month 💜
🐾 Caring for the people who care for the animals.
September is Su***de Prevention Month, and we want to shine a light on something that isn’t talked about enough in the animal world.
Veterinarians, veterinary staff, shelter and rescue workers, animal control professionals and volunteers dedicate so much of themselves to caring for animals and sometimes that comes with an emotional weight most of us never see.
They experience heartbreaking cases. They care for animals they can’t always save. They face difficult decisions, compassion fatigue, burnout, financial pressures, loss and sometimes negative interactions with the very people they are trying to help.
Their hearts are filled and broken…. over and over again. ❤️🩹
That’s why organizations like NOMV — Not One More Vet are so important.
And as pet owners, we can make a difference too.
🐾 Give your veterinarian and their staff grace, respect and appreciation.
🐾 Be patient, you may not know what they’ve already faced that day.
🐾 Remember that yelling, insults, accusations and online bullying can have a very real impact.
🐾 Check in on the animal lover who is always taking care of everyone else.
🐾 Thank the shelter worker, rescue volunteer, veterinary professional or animal advocate in your life.
This month…and every month, let’s remember to care for the humans who spend their lives caring for animals.
To all of our Veterinarians, Veterinary teams, shelter and rescue workers, volunteers and animal-welfare professionals:
You ARE appreciated. You ARE valued. And the work you do matters. 💜🐾
